Patriots Rumor A.J. Brown trade rumors heat up - Should Patriots get him?

A report indicating the Patriots are potentially in the market for this player, or have expressed or plant to express interest.

IF I'm Eagles brass I'm all over that; the 2027 Draft is Deep in many areas which is good news for us. I don't think the 28 Draft will be all that.

Yep. The only way I'm ever trading a future 1st round pick, for any veteran, is if he's still 25 or younger and I extend him as part of the deal.
The Eagles traded a 1st four years ago (?), and now he is older and has worse knees.

And this is worth a 1st rounder now?

I hope the Pats have better impulse control than some posters here.

Roseman MUST get Brown off of his team.

I’m sure he’d love to wait a year to get a 1st for a player he needs to get off of his team anyway.

“You want 1st in 2028 Howie?

OK, just give us Brown, and YOUR 1st round pick in 2029.”

I don’t know if I like giving up a first in ANY year. That’s why my only complaint about our 2026 draft was not taking a WR. Even with the Prunty pick in the 5th, they could’ve taken a shot on a WR. Not excited about any of the UDFA WRs we signed.

I rather they don’t get him if it’ll cost a 1st. I know a lot of us consider it a done deal, but the pressure is on THEM to trade him, not on us to give away too much.

The Commanders went to the NFC championship game in 2024, and they just picked in the top 10 in this draft.

Brown is a luxury and the trade is fraught with danger. Juice is not worth the squeeze.

Aging player with bad knees is not what we need.
Thats fine. Hate giving up a 1st anytime personally. Have to take some chances. Any trade is dangerous. Getting a #1 WR in the middle of a playoff window is pretty valuable.

If this is the deal then they don't get Boutte.

Much better obviously to keep all ammo for the stacked draft in 2027.

Whether we like the trade for AJ Brown or not, most likely he is going to make the team better. Him being here takes pressure off of Boutte and Doubs and so on. Do I want to give up a 1st…**** no I don’t. Am I gonna ***** an moan if the do, no to that as well. It is what it is. If Vrabel and the decision makers feel this is the best avenue let er rip. If they want to ride with Boutte and Co., I’m fine with that too.

I can't wait for the GDT every time Brown has a drop or bad route because you will have half the board saying see I told you he was not worth it. The a few plays later he will catch a TD and the other half will say see I told you he was worth it.

The fact is ....the eagles drafted and signed a few receivers.......so they will definitely be tradining him. I hope the Patriots are smart enought not to trade him for a 1st or 2nd. I will give them a third and a 2nd round swap....

I agree that the Pats should not trade any 1st for Brown. I am concerned now that Vrabel may be more willing to do that now as a way to change the affair discussion.

Maybe Howie thinks so too?

When you trade a future first, you do not know what you are trading. It could be 1 or 32.
That is inherently extremely risky. Eagles know exactly what they trading.

Chiefs or Rams know that a fiture first is likely 25-31. Much less risky for the rams

2037 would be fine with me. I should be senile by then and won’t even realize we don’t have a first round pick

The Commanders went to the NFC championship game in 2024, and they just picked in the top 10 in this draft.

Big part of the reason they picked 10th was because Jayden Daniels missed 10 games and left 2 other games injured and McClaurin missed almost half the season and the top receivers outside McClaurin on the team was Deebo Samuel and 34 year old Zach Ertz

Also that defense was just absolutely atrocious, worst in the league, easily. When Bobby Wagner is your leading tackler and Von Miller is your sack leader at this point in their careers it's not a good thing. Not to mention their #1 CB was Marshon Lattimore who hasn't played more than 10 games in a season 2021.

The feeling here is there will be no other team bidding for Brown. I don't understand this.

And comparing to what the Eagles gave up years ago fails too.

WR's are more of a premium today, and Browns best season in Tennessee was 70 catches 1075 yards.

I don't see getting AJ Brown for less than a #1 pick unless a decent player is added.
