Patriots trade Hollister to the Seahawks

Being a move TE in NE seems to be like being a random Red shirt on Star Trek.

<<<Merge thread>>>

Field Yates is reporting that it’s a 7th round pick and not a conditional 7.

I just laughed out loud upon seeing this. Belichick is so unpredictable.

BB has devised a TE'less offense and is springing it on the league this season. Minds are going to be blown.

We’ll always have that one preseason game or two he showed up.

No conditions on this pick, as it turns out. The Patriots fetch Seattle’s 2020 seventh rounder, while the Seahawks get an athletic TE they’ll try to develop in their offense.

645K off the books.

He had a hard time with my methods.

This makes a lot of sense.....said nobody ever.

Just as no one thought a 2 TE offense coins revolutionalize creating mismatches in the passing game, you’ll have to watch and learn. (If morphing to minimal TE involvement is the new plan)
I've been going NUTS since the draft over the lack of a TE pick even though we could have had our pick of Smith, Knox, Warring, and Sternberger. All were fine prospects though Smith is really an HB who I didn't want unless it was at 56.

Not only that we drafted a worthy pick in the 2nd, although at a position we currently have SIX CB's who have started at least one game last season. We grabbed 2 C's although we currently have a very good one under contract for 2 more years. We grabbed a good G although we already have 2 of the better G's in the league and a solid back up in Karras. And instead of drafting a DT or TE, we draft ANOTHER RB although we have 4 good guys at the position already. To say this draft was baffling would be an understatement.

But that being said, you make a great point. Maybe this ISN'T about replacing Gronk. And it's not about how you attack the field in your passing game, but rather from what position you attack it from.

So instead of having a TE threatening the seam you threaten it say with a slower, but still a lot faster than most TE's from the slot. And he still has enough speed to run all of Gronks outside routes.

What you DON'T have is Gronk to block on the line. You can solve part of that problem by having one of the PLETHORA of OLmen we have lining up outside the OT.

So just maybe the sky isn't falling just yet and we don't have to make a big trade for a guy like Roudolph. We just have to redistribute the attack threats with the talent that already exists on the team and go from there

But a coveted 7th round pick in return!!

The No TE offense is coming folks. I think someone else here already mentioned that. I tip my cap.

Seahawks fans are excited...not a single thread on their message board about this

Hollister spent too much time in the tub, and not enough time on the field. If they got a 7th for him, that's a trade they won.

The funny thing about this is that Caserio admitted that they traded up for the punter because they needed to burn some 7th round picks.

It's like a 7th rounder is a burden to these guys.

Im might be in the minority, but I was far from impressed by Hollister

Everytime he was in the field, he couldnt get open, he seemed very slow, specially out of cuts. Getting something out of someon I felt was borderline cut is good, so Im kinda pleased

It is undeniable though that we are very weak at TE. Even if ASJ does surprise us, I won't count any of the remainings to do anything. But also, it smells like something is brewing inside Patriots' Place.

Andrew Beck, Come on Down !!
