I'll just leave this Burfuct news right here...

You follow the NFL and the Patriots closely, you blame Kraft for constantly towing the party line and yet you have no recollection of Kraft's statement when the plane landed at the Super Bowl? Unbelievable.

i remember all the statements kraft has said about how good of a job roger is doing.

kraft says a bunch of stuff, in terms of roger its very contradictory.

What I find ludicrous is that Burfict, who is a repeat offender, isn't expected to get anything more than a fine, but the NFL fines Edelman for a facemask that wasn't called and was actually part of a stiff arm..
They fined him for that ? That was a facemask and probably should have been called, but a bloody fine? give me a freaking break.

Don't assume he supports them anymore.. Not when it's becoming so blatant that the Commish doesn't know wtf he's doing..

Well, Kraft employs the man who regulates these policies...and has historically upheld the reputation and status of that man when it was widely questioned. Kraft optimizes the words of Pastor Martin Niemöller. Now we can sit back and watch. FU Roger. Screw you, RKK.

I'm with Andy and Chasa on this. Kraft has NEVER publicly scolded or even negatively spoken of Roger Goodell. In fact, he has only spoken very highly of him. When he landed in Arizona for the SB, he only referred to "league," not the "commissioner" or Goodell by name. These were his words that day:
“I would expect and hope that the league would apologize to our entire team and in particular, coach Belichick, and Tom Brady for what they have had to endure this past week,” Kraft said. “I am disappointed in the way this entire matter has been handled and reported upon. We expect hard facts as opposed to circumstantial leaked evidence to drive the conclusion of this investigation.

“I’ve spoken with coach Belichick. I’ve spoken with Tom Brady. I’ve taken the time to understand to the best of my abilities what goes on in the preparation of gameday footballs, and I want to make it clear, unconditionally, that the New England Patriots have done nothing inappropriate in this process or in violation of NFL rules.”

He NEVER got his apology. He has slept much better than we have the past 18months.

Whatever, he's not our problem I guess. They won't be making the playoffs or winning the AFCN anytime soon, so we won't be playing the Bengals again until 2019. He's everyone else's problem now.

It's like another poster said, I am too exhausted to be outraged anymore. I didn't anticipate a suspension, especially since it came against the Patriots.

At least the game is in the rear view mirror and nobody got their ACL shredded. The Bengals hopefully will miss the playoffs and we shouldn't have to worry about Burfict targeting anymore of our players for a little while.

Exactly what did he say deragatory about the commissioner?
Yes he said he expected an apology if there was no proof yet his commissioner manufactured evidence and there is no apology.

You seem to be confusing his comments about the situation with criticism of goodell.
Please correct me if you have instances of criticism if goodell. I only remember hugs, comments that he is doing a great job and blaming the framing on lawyers.

So if I am reading this correctly, the "standard" minimum fine for "Striking/Kicking/Kneeing" is $9,115 for a first offense, and $18,231 for second. So by that standard at least, $75k is a hefty fine.

Fines & Appeals | NFL Football Operations

The $75k would make easily make it onto this "top-10" fine list:

I personally believe he should have been suspended for these two hits.
He got nothing for the hit in Bennett. The NFL feels that was a fine legal and honorable hit.

Well, we all will get a chance to see other players be taken out by him. The NFL will deserve all the negativity it will receive and the patriots won't be at the center of that. Win for me.

>>He got nothing for the hit in Bennett. The NFL feels that was a fine legal and honorable hit.

It was clearly dirty, but was it in fact illegal? No rule against going for the knees (although there should be one) and you could perhaps argue that the pump-fake by Brady in his direction made him a target.

Here's a video and story - note the ball is in the air fairly close to Bennet as the hit arrives.

Vontaze Burfict's low hit on Martellus Bennett's knees was bound to happen

I'm just trying to be legalistic and dispassionate here - as I said before, I personally think he should have been suspended.

You're missing the negative inflection in Kraft's voice when he says "good job".
