I wouldn't go off that, they have been promoting that the cover athlete would be revealed today on Sportscenter. Doubt they would put it up before. Seems like that's just a placeholder that the XBOX store is using. In fact that graphic of Gronk was the one they used last year when they did the vote, I doubt they'd use the same one.

Why the Madden curse works is prety simple. Generally you don't get on the cover of Madden unless you have a career year. Of course you will not match those numbers next year and come back down to the average of your career.

Gronk on the other hand if he plays 16 games could easily match last years numbers if not beat them.

I am more worried about him being injured (cursed) than not putting up numbers.

I think we can all agree that Gronk will put #s up if he is on the field.

Probably a good guess. They want to be associated with the Gronk brand but know the public won't likely choose a Pat.

EA hasn't given a **** what anyone thinks in years so makes sense that they would stop the vote too.

I usually buy the digital copy of madden then delete it when the new one comes out. This year, I am buying the hard copy and keeping it just bc of Gronk!

This was going to be the first Madden I bought in a few years until the Brady decision happened and soured me on football in general. Now Gronk being on the cover just makes it more miserable for me.
