it is but only because they aren't targeted 170 times in a season
(Using Stats LLC drops stat)

Welker: 10 drops, 118 receptions; 10/128=7.8% of catchable balls dropped
Edelman: 1 drop, 21 receptions; 1/22=4.5%
Amendola: 1 drop, 63 receptions; 1/64=1.6%

Question...is Lloyd's 2013 $3mill option bonus guaranteed?

from Rotoworld: "3/17/12: Signed a three-year, $12 million contract. The deal included a $3 million signing bonus. Annual $100,000 workout bonuses are available throughout the contract's life. 2013: $1.9 million (+ $3 million option bonus), 2014: $2.9 million, 2015:
Hmm, didn't notice that. Doesn't really matter though, because as much as people act like Lloyd is useless, the Pats aren't finding another 900 yard receiver for the $2.5M they'd save if they were to cut him, assuming it's not guaranteed.

if edelman has 118 recs next year..he will be around 10 drops as well

That equation doesn't factor in the extra work load or the mental aspect of different or more routes in the system, more than that player is use to. Now if i saw a year where he followed that path..then i would say he drops less. but until i see him have a 120 catch year..i won't know how many he will drop but it would be more that the 6-7 he would be on pace for

To clarify, I don't think he'll get more than that here. He may very well get more elsewhere.

oh oh...nevermind my last remark then

Based on the small sample size, I wouldn't say that's overly unrealistic. Amendola, on the other hand, caught half as many balls with 1/10 the drops. No way anybody can say that he drops more balls than Welker.

amendola will always have less drops..he only plays in 10 games a year :D
