#1 WR? Brandon Aiyuk or Deebo anyone?

Aiyuk has turned himself into one of the leagues better rr through hard work. That's one him not the Shanny system. He was a project coming out of ASU. Limited route tree and rr. That's all completely changed and it's bc of that "system." He's a complete wr that is a very good blocker, underutilized down field and can win outside. Again he was a project coming out and Jimmy G couldn't really utilize BA's skill-set. He's never been fed huge targets, last year he had 105 targets for 75 1342 17.9 7. I believe he was top 2-3 for ypr.

Some of you guys are way off here. This guy has worked himself into a WR1. He's gotten better each season and is a beast on the field. You want him on your side. Especially at 26 in his prime.

Also its 2024 - 40 times aren't the end all, be all! Game speed is tracked for every single player/prospect coming out of college. That's part of why Kupp fell. Poorish 40 but hit 21mph on the field. Aiyuk can actually separate on his routes whereas Deebo is fed touches. And I love Deebo but it's not close who's the better wr.

I'm fine with seeing what we have this year bc I'm a big Baker fan. Love what Pop and Polk can bring. That said some of you find every way to say no to top tier wrs.

I would love a top WR, but it has to be an All Pro if you are giving them almost 30 million.

I read Butler visited Carolina, but as of yet it appears he hasn't signed yet.

Carolina signed Daewood Davis from the Memphis Showboats.

No google search says anything about Hakeem?
My mistake you are correct had read on twitter a signing was imminent.

Aiyuk was 2nd team all-pro and had a better year than ASTB who was voted 1st team.

Aiyuk almost had 1400 yds on 105 targets. Imagine what his #'s would look like if you gave him 164 targets that ASTB had. Also Aiyuk almost avg 18 per rec to ASTB 12.7.

I'm a little confused why some are so off here. It's not the run first offense that's making him produce. He's improved every year. Well rounded. Put up very good #'s two years in a row with little targets. This one isn't hard.

We shouldn't be trading a pick and paying a huge salary. The 2024 compensation would essentially be wasted. Let's wait until next off-season.

Yes, Aiyuk is tempting. Even if he signed a patriot-friendly deal (essential for any trade), he'd want an adjustment in a year or two if he is producing.

I want to get weapons around Maye as quick as possible.
Plus Bourne has been lobbying for him for a while.

A potential top 5 pick and $30+ million a season for Aiyuk is too much imo. They could get a franchise LT with the pick, and top WR in free agency next offseason and be much better off.

I certainly would do a 2nd rounder but not a first
2nd rounder and JJS

I'm not a huge fan of signing him yet. He needs to pick his game up. He barely had 1,000 yards on the ground in 2022 and was projected to have a big drop off even if he played all 17 games in 2023. He's also not had more than 5 rushing TD's in a season.

What's crazy is that 27 years ago 6 for $36M was too much for Curtis Martin, but 4 for $36M is fine now.

Bourne has been lobbying for who?
He shouldn't be lobbying for anyone. That guy is on thin ice and could lose his job to players currently on the roster.

When Samuel was on the field in 2023, the 49ers were 12-1 and won by a margin of 18 points. When he started but didn't finish or didn't play at all, they were 1-4. This is why they haven't paid Aiyuk yet and may not.

I don't care much honestly w we do it as long as it doesn't cost us a first rd pick. I want a #1 WR brought here to help Maye. Let's not try to sabotage him.

Good to know. I love Deebo, but my concern with all the speed players is how quickly they drop off once it starts to go. And given where they are at as a franchise I’m more inclined to wait a season before bringing in the higher priced offensive skill positions. If they could get Deebo for a mid round pick, on a restructured deal I would consider it, but I doubt either would happen.

Rham was the offense if you want to call it one the last 2 seasons.. he made something from nothing when literally it was nothing most times.. I'm not here to say that there isn't more to do for rham.. but he was beat up last 2 seasons. I believe he's one of the best all around backs in the league.. if polk and baker turn out to be play makers wich I think they can be his game will be helped.

When Zeke got 20+ carries the Cowboys won like 95% of their games. Not bc of his carries. They were up from passing and ran out the ball. Those stats are meaningless. Deebo was clearly WR2 last year and wasn't close to Aiyuk as a WR. One guy is fed manipulated touches while Aiyuk is a legit wr. And I'm a Deebo fanboy. Anyone who watched the 49ers last year saw Deebo come down to earth and struggle to separate.

The key question is whether Aiyuk is a flashy luxury item when we haven't yet got a roof over our heads in the way of a reliable OL and a coaching staff that has settled in properly. Arguably next year (after a likely top-5 pick) is a better time to pick up a WR1.

We can get Higgins for no cost next year or mid season for 3rd rounder if Bengals season goes for a toss.

Don't expend 2025 picks ( Rd 1 and 2) when it's the highest you might be picking in years.
