What this does is make room for Cobbs on the practice squad...

I thought that Cobbs was signed to the PS of the Steelers. I don't think that we can sign him to ours?

haha, sneaky bastard... I love it.

are you all missing the point? Belechick did the equivalent of a kick below the belt. signed smith got the bills gameplan from him and then sent him packing.

be proud. your team is built on a long history of integrity and hard work.

And yet people who believe the rumors of BB keeping Chad Jackson a secret, of sorts, are branded as crackpots?

BB will do anything it takes in order to get the upper hand. Whether it be having Smith here to pump him for information or keeping CJ under wraps, I won't put anything past him. Quite frankly, I wouldn't expect anything less from the coach of my favorite team. Whatever it takes to win, do it.

I'm thinking 31-0

Does anyone have confirmation of this? I can't find any mention of the transaction on the NFL page, the patriots page, Reiss' blog, or espn...

I'm just glad we were able to get Childress back, and now it looks like he may get some playing time. Regardless of Jackson's "I'm back" proclamation, I don't see him getting much playing time in the first 2 games. Childress may have been our best WR in training camp. The good thing is we should see Gabriel & Brown, and hopefully not too much Caldwell. Gabriel, Brown & Watson should be amongst our reception leaders for the first 2 games before Jackson starts catching some passes. Maybe Caldwell proves me wrong, but I'm not holding out too much hope for Caldwell. I see Bam being that sneaky slot receiver who get's free space due to double teaming of Gabriel & Watson (and Jackson when he get's playing time). That gives Bam the chance to sneak into open spaces. I hope we keep Bam.

I didn't know that much about Jonathan Smith, and maybe we sign him to our PS.

I didn't think it was possible... but I no longer hate you pats fans. I'm am now officially repulsed by you.

Go rape a child or something and then tell your buddies you "scored with the woman of your choice"
.. hey whatever it takes to win right?

/leaves and never comes back.. feel free to delete my account.
Good job keeping your thoughts within the context of the conversation, you mouth-breather. Do you actually think that you've made a coherent point here? Are you that stupid as to think anything you just said pertains to the conversation at hand?

Don't let the door hit ya on the way out, pal.

All of this sniping presumes that Smith wasn't in the know about this the entire time. Maybe he was. Probably not I would guess, but...

Dude, I would call you a twat if I thought you would understand it. And even children know better than to wipe their ass in public.

I just checked again and haven't seen any mention of this transaction yet.

Also, I would question how much Smith would know about the actual gameplan the Bills have put in for the Patriots given the time frame he was cut in. He would certainly know personnel and some general things but not enough to make much impact.

Do you think he was the first to do that buffalo boy??? Just a sore loser looking for excuses...Change the rules if you don't like it and quit whining..

There is also the chance that BB discovered the kid just plain sucks.

The writer asked WHY they would sign Smith and then release him just a few days before the game? The answer is obvious.

The locker he was assigned was the old one used by Bethel Johnson, and Bethel had left his old play book inside. Smith was using it, so naturally he was out of position on every play that was called in practice, and consequently cut.
Laugh my "Donkey" off

I think they cut bam, signed smith, signed gabriel, signed bam to the ps, then (if this is true) cut smith. I think the arrival of gabriel was the reason for the release of smith. Action Jackson's performance could also factor in.

It's funny that oposing fans come here with all of this conspiracy theories of our despicable team stealing other teams castoffs for the sole purpose of stealing that teams gameplan. Well us Pats fans can say the same thing about our castoffs, didn't Lawyer Milloy get picked up a week before the season opener against us back in 2003 ? Did the Bills steal all of our secrets via Milloys playbook ? Gimme a break. Players get cut all of the time, and get signed all of the time by opposing teams. Belichick is brilliant, but I don't think he is crazy enough to think signing Smith can be the reason for us to be able to beat Buffalo. I think he has a pretty good team that might be able to do the job without the brilliant Jonathan Smith.
