Boutte available for trade?

Straight up for a Former #5 overall. The Giants GM would be assassinated for GM Malpractice... this ain't Madden.

“Former” means nothing come year 5. It might carry a little weight if it was his 2nd - 4th NFL season. It’s no different at this point than saying “Boutee was once a projected elite #1 WR, top 10 pick. Both were top 10 players nation wide, 5 star recruits” all this is true for both and means nothing in this moment.

Their past doesn’t represent their current value any longer at this point in their respective careers.

We use 3 WRs. Last year he was our second best. We lost one. We upgraded 2 of the 3 spots, Boutte remains.
Who is your WR3 ahead of Boutte?
I agree. Everyone is hell bent to put Williams as the WR3. I get that they want to see a speedster in his second year get a chance. Other than a Go route he was extremely limited last year. His route running needs work and during a good part of the beginning of the year he was not reading the defense correctly. He went right while Drake threw left. McD’s Offense can do that to some players. So until I see more of him Boutte is your WR3 and for good reason.
If we keep Boutte this season he is what we need as insurance if AJ or Doubs go down. If we keep him through the season and he signs a nice FA contract somewhere else next year our compensation pick will be higher then what they can get right now for him

show me a WR that posted 1000 yards on under 60 targets. 70 targets. 80 targets. they either do not, or hardly exist.
Boutte gets 1st downs
Boutte catches everything
Boutte gets into the end zone
Boutte's had the most WR snaps on the entire team the last two years. He's had Drake Maye and his cannon arm at QB... if he can't get open, that's not someone else's fault.
My entire part of this conversation is
1) don't rush into a bad deal.
2) add a 6th rd pick as a sweetener if needed
3) a good deal could be a player in return rather than a draft pick
1. The market sets the price, the best deal will always be the one they take.
2. All he'll likely get in return in a 6th, wtf are you talking about?
3. maybe

Boutte was still recovering from ankle surgeries in 2021 and 2022.
He's still not recovered. Boutte isn't blowing past anyone. He usually makes his long catches with a defender draped all over him. He should be commended for that, for the things he does well... but that doesn't make him the ideal field stretcher. He was filling a need in 2025 because frankly they had nobody else, and Williams looked like a better option in limited action.

He's merely a good possession WR who plays physical, has good body control and catches the ball away from his body. If he didn't want to get paid this season I'd say hang onto him, as the 4th guy or so he'd be a great addition. But Brown, Doubs and Williams should be given heavy run, even Douglas and Hollins have defined roles. Boutte not so much...

lets see. I will jump onto the trade Boutte thread, and complain about people discussing trading Boutte
boring people get bored
are you married to Clone what's her name?
You keep posting the same idiot **** over and over. We get it. Saying it multiple times doesn’t make it right, it is still an idiotic take.

I’m expecting your next take to be Drake has it in for him and purposely doesn’t throw him the ball. Or he slept with McDaniels wife so he purposely game plans against him. Jesus man he is a good wr who wants to get paid next season and realizes he probably won’t get many touches this year so he either wants to get paid now, or make it known he is unhappy so he gets traded to another team where hopefully he can show he is the man. Tough position because he is a pretty good wr, just not a great one.

Pats currently have 7 WR's. They carried 6 in 2025. Someone is getting cut or traded.

We keep talking about Boutte, but Douglas seems like a strong possibility.

I think Boutte stays for the 2026 season and will walk in 2027.

Boutte may wind up being more of an “in the way” WR than anything with major value.

There’s a lot of capable WRs Boutte included taking up space and granted having extra WRs in case of injury would be an amazing thing but it’s not reality.

Is hanging on to Boutte worth keeping at the risk of maybe impeding development of a Kyle Williams? Guys like Hollins are who they are

Not an awful problem to have, I guess during practice everybody will eventually kind of fall into where they should be and the roster will adjust accordingly

Boutte's gone.

Boutte played about 55% of the snaps last year. Diggs had the same number of snaps and doubled Boutte production. Hollins had the most at 60%. With Kyle Williams and Pops each getting 30% of the snaps.

There is no way Boutte is getting 55% again. Mack Hollins is a big part of the run game so its hard to imagine him getting less than 50% this year. Doubs and Brown should be getting at least 55% like Boutte and Diggs last year. And one would have to assume the coaching staff wants to get Williams more involved with the offense.

There isnt enough snaps unless Boutte can outshine Doubs in trainding camp, and instead of trying to work hard he is asking for a trade because he cant handle competition.

Christian Watson. 4 years $110.5m.

Wow.

This WR market is off the charts. That's incredible for a guy with #s very very similar to Boutte's (high target success, big YPC, but modest # of catches & yards).

I like Williams a lot. I hope he beats out Boutte. Until he does you don’t get rid of a guy who starts for you.
