Boutte available for trade?

Trying to remember my SAT skills from 40 years ago, but...

Doubs : Boutte :: Gilmore : Butler

A. True
B. False

Answer is B.
I suck at math, not sure what you’re trying to say.

Preach Upstater, Preach!!!!!

Pape your going to lure @PatsFan2

I presume the price is low because most teams think they can get him as a FA at the end of the season.

Who knows, maybe they think he'll be cut during training camp?

Seems there is no rush to make a deal happen.
the Pats should not be in any rush
if Boutte wants to play, and get paid, he will need to report.
If a WR on the Pats gets hurt over the summer, Boutte is locked and loaded.
If everyone comes thru healthy, and Brown and DOubs look really good, Boutte can be had in a deal, that is worth it to the Pats.
Thats not a 5th or 6th

He’s had 500 yards receiving the last two seasons.

They’re not trading anything but a role player.
baloney
look at the catch %. look at the 1st downs. look at the ypc. look at the TD's

rcpts and yards are usage stats. Boutte wasn't used to a larger degree (and missed some time with injury)

K. Williams is also a factor into this.. I made mention that compare last off season 2025 in comparison this offseason.. for K. Boutte there wasn't any certainty he would had even made the team.. then.

5th or 6th is really selling low on a player that played very well last season, and still has upside.
still only 24 years old
I think it's a 3 or 4 at the worst.

I think people may be forgetting how good Boutte was looking prior to getting injured.

He was a legitimate deep threat.

He had made several outstanding contested catches on deep passes, the one in the playoffs vs Houston was just one of them.

Boutte has the ability to make us regret we let him go, while we continue to wonder why the Pats cannot seem to draft WRs.

Boutte may have Jauan Jennings syndrome thinking he's better than he really is. 49ers fans will instantly forget about him. Boutte couldn't even beat out journeyman Hollins for targets in 2025, so he really shouldn't be complaining if he is. Pats already chose Doubs, so Boutte is as good as gone after 2026 if the Pats trade for AJ Brown. But for this season, Pats should keep Boutte as injuries occur. If Williams emerges and Chism shows anything in camp, Douglas could be the one that gets traded.

It's not math, it's analogies.

Doubs compares to Boutte the way Gilmore compares to Butler.

True or False.

But ...but we are getting AJB.

I feel like Boutte, Hollins and Douglas are not safe, enter AJ Brown, Romeo Doubs, and A bigger role for Chism, let’s say one of the fringe wrs step up in camp this could make Hollins replaceable with youth.
Douglas, I think Chism is already a better route runner, if he develops some more burst, explosion to go along with his toughness he will be hard to keep off the field.

I'm of the opinion Boutte and this agent have been told something.. all we simply have to do is look at his availability around the facilities, OTAs last season as opposed to this one. I mean of course guys do train on thier own but as I've said in a earlier post.. even though Drake and Gonzo are in different levels of hierarchy they too want contracts however they are visible and engaging in OTAs..

5th rounders are the equivalent of UDFAs these days. Look at Karon Prunty. Unless the scouts were very very very wrong, he was a guy people wanted ... as a UDFA. And look at our other picks in the 5th and 6th. Prunty, Obiazor, Marcellus Dial, Swinson, Joe Milton.

This isn't worth it when you're trying to win now and the position requires depth because of injuries, especially to an older guy like AJ Brown,
Huh? 5th round picks are the equivalent of UDFAs because one of NE’s 5th rounders projected as a UDFA on consensus boards this year in a historically bad draft class?

What about… Richard Sherman? Stefon Diggs? George Kittle? Rodney Harrison? Zach Thomas? Those guys were all 5th rounders, were they UDFA level? What about that guy Tom Brady, he was in the SIXTH round, he must suck! Boutte himself was a sixth round pick…

Sure, I’m cherry picking, but there are still a hell of a lot of decent NFL starters/backups picked in the 5th round every year.

I going to say this I think last FA: Romeo Doubs was our Plan C. I think we really wanted Alec Pierce and he prefered Indy. All this with AJB still coming in the fold. Regarding K Boutte I think his ceiling is very similar to Doubs or maybe slightly higher. K Boutte could be the Huge beneficiary with AJB drawing coverage on the other side. Also K Boutte have an advantage over Doubs in our current Offense; He was off to a very Fast Start last year before his concussion. We are not Rich @ WR to Trade him: we are more like the sisters of the poor in that area.

Let me say this again:

in the last 5 years, 1 out of our 23 picks from the 5th round and later has ended up starting for us or being a contributor.

1 out of 23.

Yes, you are cherrypicking.

This is the JuJu versus Jakobi thread all over again.

Hmmmm….

Keep our draft picks and let Boutte play in a contract year,

Or

Trade valuable assets for an aging, highly paid WR with concerning physical issues.

What to do what to do?
Me.. me... Me... Plan B.
