DRAFT DAY DISCUSSION 2026 NFL Draft: Day 2

Happy we drafted a really solid pass rusher, he should help quickly I expect. I’m still concerned about the depth at off the ball linebacker after Spillane and Ellis, but they can’t solve everything at once, and once Rodriguez and Golday were gone, they would have been reaching at that position. Good news is most of the TEs are still available, hopefully we can snag one with the 3rd rounder.

Feel pretty good about the DL now. You have Jones on one side and a rotation on the other but over time Jacas will become the top dog. You can rotate in Landry, Ponder, Swinson on either side as needed. Plus Milt Williams, Barmore, and Durden in the middle. They can also put Jones in the middle if they want, or Barmore on the edge, for specific situations. Seems like the Jacas pick puts them in a much better spot.

My only issue with the Jacas pick is we traded up for a guy who clearly wasn't BPA. Drafting for need can stink like that.
If the BPA is a QB and you have one, do you still take him? No. Taking a player is always balanced against need. Edge was the biggest need and Jacas was the best player available at that position. Not a reach by any stretch.

Wow Anthony Hill Jr. was ranked number four LB on most of the boards, including Kiper’s….good pick

That's an excellent pick for the Rams.

Might not have been the BPA, but he was the last of the impact Edge players which was our major need
Absolutely. Though i wouldn't call him one of the 'impact' edge guys. To me Parker was the last impact guy. Gabe needs some seasoning IMO. Like i said, I think he can rotate immediately start soon. Maybe be impact down the line. I make a separation based on that. But I could be wrong. Maybe he starts day 1 and runs over guys. Be happy to be wrong here.

Seems like TEs are starting to come off. Klein and Klare are gone..

Noticed Anthony Hill to the Titans..
..

I kinda of love having the conviction to trade up for a target you really want.

You end up with Cyrus Jones, Ras I-Dowling ect when you trade down treat a pool of players like they are all inter changable in a 10 pick range.
A typical BB draft would be trade down 3 times and take 2 unathletic small school football players nobody heard of. Plus One of them has to be an undersized DB from Rutgers for some reason.

This year's draft made a lot more sense. We had some clear needs. We targeted them and we moved up to address those needs with players that we liked better than other options.

Making smart moves instead of trying to outsmart everyone else.

Oof Bills reached there.
