Patriots Rumor A.J. Brown trade rumors heat up - Should Patriots get him?

A report indicating the Patriots are potentially in the market for this player, or have expressed or plant to express interest.
End of statement. The rest is just what the haters were whining about all year long. Sad to see how you've joined them.
If a Rams fan was to say it was a terrible no call on the obvious PI in the Rams-Saints NFC Championship, does that automatically mean they're saying the Rams didn't deserve to face us in the Super Bowl?

Two things can be true at once:

1. The Pats earned their conference championship

2. The Pats had good fortune along the way

You're acting like it's an impossibility that the team backslides a bit this season.

It's rare that a team doesn't win without a bit of good fortune.

Without the helmet catch, plus a lot other things, the 2007 Patriots finish the 19-0.

Or they shouldn't have even been 18-0 in the first place if Ryan doesn't call a TO on 4th down in the Ravens game.

Some of you are too simple-minded no offence (sic)

The idea that a guy like AJ Brown would "mentor" any receiver who might one day replace him is some of the most childish NFL fan wish fulfillment jerkoff fodder I can imagine.

All you are doing is proving my point: You show me a modern day team in the Super Bowl and I'll show you a team who had a lot of luck along the way.
You're acting like it's an impossibility that the team backslides a bit this season.
And you're acting like they went 7-10 last year and should be targeting 2030 before seriously competing for a title.

NFL.com has an article speculating on what a Brown trade looks like

I'll leave it to the team to decide if Brown is worth 2 starters (#31 and Boutte) plus a potential contributor in the 4th but if they pass, I'm ok with that, keeping both of those starters and bringing back Diggs for less, while extending some of our good players with the leftover money

Patriots receive:

  • WR A.J. Brown
  • 2026 6th-round pick (No. 197 overall)
Eagles receive:

  • 2026 1st-round pick (No. 31)
  • 2026 4th-round pick (No. 125)
  • WR Kayshon Boutte

This is a MASSIVE overpay. This is a deal that only Howie Roseman's best friend would postulate, or someone who hates the Pats and wants them to screw themselves. And I'm trying to be nice about it. I'd be hesitant to offer a 27 2nd and Douglas or Chism.

Thankfully nothing like this will EVER happen,

A lot of the luck we had last year was facing mostly weak teams when the injuries started to pile up. Our obvious lack of depth didn't impact us because of that. We still don't have that depth. No, we didn't go 7-10. But we're not stacked either.

Pathetic how you sound just like the haters.
Milton Williams got hurt early against the Jets. He was out when we faced the Bengals without Burrow or Chase, the Giants, the Bills, the Ravens without Jackson half the game, and the Jets again. Please explain to me how what I said was wrong.

Damn, vrabel hanging out with rusinni at the pool. She's been the#1 source of aj speculation.

Guess she's getting her info from the man himself
Felger all over it. The SCANDAL!!

FTR: Doubs have Never had a 1000yds in a season: not even 800yds and I know he played in a solid Offense. He's a nice complimentary Receiver: he would be very good with a guy like A.J. Brown. I will say this A.J. Brown is underrated my the massive here: the same massive who overrate their own even the current Diggs. A.J. Brown is a proven #1 Player who I would take over an unproven Rookie ten out of ten times. I'm not going get hung up on Draft pick compensation for a guy who's been to the SB Twice and won one *could have easily had two SB rings*. A.J. is the real deal.

If that was intelligible I would criticize it.

This is what he lives for.

Imagine that?

Felger loves her and has given her props many times over the years.

I didn't hear today's show so I'd be interested to see if this was a one sided (Vrabels fault) grift.

Today's show?! It was fantastic! BTW I have never listened or even know what a Felger looks like. Star for me.

I used to like him but he's become quite insufferable. Taking shots at your own audience is unbecoming.

It's a weird article because after they go on about how it will cost Philly an extra $30 mil in dead cap space by trading him before the 2026 draft, they go on to offer scenarios in which the trade takes place before the draft

Unless Philly is thinking the Pats are going to win the Super Bowl next season, they'd get a better pick by waiting until 2027

And if they're waiting until after the draft then getting a WR in return makes more sense - but likely NOT with 2 draft picks in 2027

I'd think a post-draft trade for one of our WRs and next year's 1st rounder and maybe a later draft pick than 4th round would get it done.
If we picked up AJ then I would cheer him on.
I am not in the camp to give up a 1st round pick in any scenario to get AJ. Pop and a 2nd rounder and late pick then I would think you make the deal.
I think AJ is a good WR and he played for Vrabel. I just think he is presently in a turmoil situation in Philly and that drives the price down. Don’t bail out Philly. He has some red flags. 29 yrs old soon, hamstring and knee problems, and abrasive feuds with management. We need our 1sts for the foresee able future to build a young team with longevity and lower cap hit’s. A second and 5th is worth the value for him. If Vrabel makes the 1st rounder then it was the value because he knows better than me on player/contract and team fit and as I said I would cheer hIm on. I am just throwing my two cents in. I want 1st rounders to build long term

Not 2027 second. Hell no.

3rd or f off Howie

I agree with you. Since I heard unconfirmed reports that we refused giving up a first and wanted to give a second, I went with the second round pick. As I said if Vrabel wanted that deal then he knows better than me. But I agree with you. Howie is not in the drivers seat with AJ

Nope. He's says (I'm paraphrasing here) 'That whore is DONE. NO ONE will EVER trust her again!'

I suspect that the deal with Vrabel is already agreed to.

However, if we are unwilling to pay a 2027, there will be others who would likely to do so. I would note that effect on the 2026 cap is very small, so team would be able to make such a deal.
