Pundit mock drafts 2026 [maybe with FAILs]

I get what you're saying, but still . . . Is that the best use for 1.31?
As I said, there are players I like more but I'm not going to be throwing something through my telly if we drafted him. But yes, there are better uses.

So Jeremiah's favourite prospect.

Greg Cosell loves him

and Dane Brugler says he might sneak into the first round.

It's not so ridiculous.

BTW - He might just be the perfect pick for the Seahawks.

Mark Morse Mock Draft:

1.31 Max Iheanachor OT - Arizona State
TRADE – Patriots trade Picks 2nd #63 and 3rd #95 to Detroit Lions for 2nd #50 and 5th #157
2.18 Malachi Lawrence EDGE - UCF
4.25 Dallen Bentley TE - Utah
4.31 Devon Marshall CB - North Carolina State
5.17 Jaishawn Barham EDGE - Michigan
5.31 Eli Heidenreich RB/WR - NAVY
6.10 Jeremiah Wright OG - Auburn
6.17 Wydett Williams S - Mississippi
6.21 Owen Heinecke LB - Oklahoma
6.31 Bryce Boettcher LB - Oregon
7.31 Uar Bernard ATH - International Pathways Program (Nigeria)

Well, at least he goes out on a limb.

Iheanachor + Lawrence a home run on 2 biggest needs.

8 solid picks in the 4-6 range. If a few pan out, then a very good draft.

Even takes a swing on Uar Bernard.

I like it.

I think Morse's approach is probably the most realistic way to go:

1. Identify your priority targets and go after them, whoever they are. This may require a trade up somewhere in the first 3 rounds, and sacrificing elsewhere.

2. Take advantage of a deep draft to fill in the holes. Guys will fall.

3. Take 1-2 swings for the fences.

I would like different CB/TE picks (i know what he's thinking) in the 4th but other than that I wouldn't complain.

Realistically, if you take his approach, then you have to see who falls day 3.

- I like Dallen Bentley. Prefer Eli Raridon.
- I like Devon Marshall, Pats have met with him. Prefer CJ Demmings or Ephesians Prysock.
- I like Jeremiah Wright, Pats have met with him. Prefer Micah Morris or Keagen Trost.

So much will depend on who is actually available. Pats have the resources to trade around if there are guys they want to target.

Matt Verderame does an "all-trade" mock (every team trades its pick, but it's consistent). @manxman2601 might like this, @mayoclinic will not.

24. New England Patriots: Akheem Mesidor, edge, Miami (FL)
Trade details: Patriots receive No. 24 (740); Browns receive No. 31 (600), No. 95 (120), No. 171 (23)
Mesidor is one of the most fascinating prospects in this draft. He’s 25 years old, but is also one of the best pure pass rushers available, evidenced by his ACC-best 12.5 sacks last season. For New England, pairing him with Dre’Mont Jones on the front, which also includes Christian Barmore and Milton Williams, is a juicy thought. While trading up seven spots wouldn’t be cheap, it would provide the Patriots with a star off the edge.

Chad Graff with a 7-rounder, with extra commentary from Dane Brugler.

1.31 EDGE T.J. Parker, Clemson
2.63 OT Caleb Tiernan, Northwestern
3.95 TE Oscar Delp, Georgia
4.125 LB Jimmy Rolder, Michigan
4.131 DT Albert Regis, Texas A&M
5.171 G Anez Cooper, Miami
6.191 CB Hezekiah Masses, California
6.198 S Jalen Huskey, Maryland
6.202 WR Caleb Douglas, Texas Tech
6.212 RB Seth McGowan, Kentucky
7.247 EDGE Michael Heldman, Central Michigan

I could live with the first five picks, although I'd swap Burke for Tiernan. I'd have different choices round 5 onwards.

Nate Tice/Charles McDonald mock:

all of the tackles are off the board by pick 24. Patriots trade back from 31 to 34 with Arizona.

Akheem Mesidor, Jacob Rodriguez, and Keylan Rutledge are all still on the board. Pats can take Mesidor at 34 and move up to get Rutledge, or Rodriguez, Jake Golday, Chrus Bell, Keionte Scottor Treydan Stukes.

Very good draft tactics for a very possible situation. Get me Mesidor, Rutledge, and trade up again for one of Golday/Rodriguez/Stukes, and you have 3 starters. Add a TE and LB/S and WR dat 3. The OL rebuild will be 4/5 complete, with RT to be addressed in 2027.

Not my preferred outcome, but a very acceptable one.

Feels more like the "I don't want to try and figure out the Patriots" trades of yore.

Buccaneers.com tried their hand at a 7-round mock. Here's who they gave NE; I'd sum it up as "cromulent."

1.31 OT Max Iheanachor, Arizona St.
2.63 LB Josiah Trotter, Missouri
3.95 WR Ted Hurst, Georgia State
4.125 DL Cameron Ball, Arkansas
4.131 TE Marlin Klein, Michigan
5.171 EDGE George Gumbs Jr., Florida
6.191 WR Cyrus Allen, Cincinnati
6.198 S Dalton Johnson, Arizona
6.202 EDGE Nadame Tucker, Western Michigan
6.212 RB Roman Hemby, Indiana
7.247 LB Xavian Sorey Jr., Arkansas

Good word, and fitting.
I certainly wouldn't want to leave Edge that late, but some pretty good picks really.
If I tried to do a Bucs draft I would fail miserably, so kudos to them for being pretty much on target

Agreed. The lack of a starter capable EDGE is the only real black mark here.

I don't know how the board fell, but I'd swap out Trotter (good player though) and Ball and go EDGE at 63 and Jimmy Rolder at 125.
