Pundit mock drafts 2026 [maybe with FAILs]

Peter Schrager with a 'what he's hearing' first round mock.

OT's off the board by 28.

Has Pats taking Keylan Rutledge. A surprise pick for sure but one I'm not completely opposed to although I do have a number of other prospects ahead of him.

I do fantasise a bit about having Keylan Rutledge and Travis Burke being the future of the right side of the OL.

You guys killing Manx's fantasies is not something I expected on a Tuesday morning in early April.

DJ says Rutledge is his favourite player in the draft and for that reason, compares him to Logan Mankins.

He said Marte Mapu was his favorite player in the draft in 2023.

Love Rutledge, don't want to spend 31 on IOL.

I do think the Pats may need to trade up a few spots if they really like an OT. SF-Houston-KC-Miami at 27-30 is a potential OL gauntlet.

More just a draftnik trying to shake things up. Draft fatigue, throw something new out there.

So a smoke signal...trying to draw some attention from The Kiper.

Matt St. Jean Patriots mock on Patspulpit:

37. Malachi Lawrence, EDGE
54. Chris Bell, WR
95. Zakee Wheatley, S
124. Eli Raridon, TE
131. Bryce Boetcher, LB
171. CJ Demmings, CB
191. Travis Burke, OT
198. Tyren Montgomery, WR
202. Will Kacmarek, TE
212. Logan Taylor, IOL
247. Jordan Van den Berg, DT

This is a well thought out mock. Good values, lots of board favorites, lots of guys on my short board. Trading back and then up with first 2 picks makes sense, depending on who is left at 31. Love the Raridon-Kacmarek combo at TE.

I don't see Travis Burke lasting to 191, we would be lucky to get him at 131. Also don't see Jordan Van den Berg lasting past round 6.

Fair enough, but his stated rationale seems a bit off, since it's questionable how much of an improvement he'd be over AVT, Wilson, or Onwenu. I guess he'd demote Brown as top IOL backup.

Rutledge certainly suits Vrabel's "violence" mantra. I'm guessing he'd be challenging Onwenu in camp for the starting RG role and if he misses out is the future RG from next year and top back up this. I doubt it happens, but there is a rationale to it.

Alright, which one of you is Matt St Jean?

I would not want Boettcher to be the only LB out of the Draft.

Good discussion during this mock:
  • Teams won't have a warm and fuzzy feeling about their first round pick after around pick 15 or so
  • Sam wonders why over the last several years there only seems to be about 12 to 15 sure-fire first round talent players in the draft and thinks there needs to be a recalibration on that term
  • Given that this is a depth draft with lots of similarly tiered players, the order in which players are picked could vary wildly from consensus.

I've been saying this all along. A great depth draft that lacks top of the roster players. I don't think there's much difference between what's available at 33 and what's available at 53. At the same time you can find easily rosterable players well into day 3.

I get what you're saying, but still . . . Is that the best use for 1.31?
