I read this timing as the draft is definitely gonna have a LB or two drafted.

Timing is a little odd, I would have waited until after the draft. Probably a contract toming and payout thing. Not really a big loss, didn't have much of a role last year.

I liked the pick at the time. Mapu was an instinctual player in college and used as a Star/Spy LB.. Unfortunately, he stopped trusting his instincts and relied on reacting to what he saw..

Once in a while a great play, but mostly out of position.

It was like his great plays were because he was out of position.

he did play 58% of the ST snaps last year
as the roster currently stands, he was the teams 3rd or 4th LB.
creates a significant need at the position in the draft/udfa
