Gonzo signaling…

He's worth what he is worth to the team. The team needs to decide what he is worth to them. Then, if he cannot be had for that sum, trade him. I personally think he's a passive-aggressive *******, but that is, aside from the impact his assholery might have on the locker room, pretty much irrelevant. He is not a sacred object: he's a goddam football player, worth what he is worth, and not a penny more. All this emotional posturing is irrelevant.
Seems your opinions are more emotional than anyone pro-Gonzalez.

It's interesting, Bedard has invited Felger to come to the stadium with him during the various pre-season camps, and for some reason the little weasel refuses to go see the team live. It's probably because he knows Vrabel would put him in a body cast if he talked the **** he does on the radio in person.

Nonsense. I offer a rational, empirical sequence of decisions,. Your ilk offers fanboy pantytwisting.
Interesting.

no emotion
he is a top 5, maybe top 3, at his position, which is a premium position in the current iteration of nfl.
today, his "worth" is pegged at an apy of $31m+.
that's today. the salary cap continue to rapidly increase. projecting his worth in 1-3 years, it is easy to peg him at an apy of $35-$38m.
that is what he is worth with zero emotion

Bedard imo, has an educated analysis when breaking down film. he is very good at it.
that said, I have never considered him to have any inside intel at all on what the team might do, or wants to do.
his current path to financial gain is clickbait and rumor mongering.

I doubt he would decide that when they have him under control for a minimum of three more seasons.
Agree. But people are saying it’s all on the team if they don’t sign him when he and only he actually has the power to totally control whether he signs or not. There are many posts indicating the team is at fault if he doesn’t sign, presumably for not meeting his asking price, and few or none acknowledging his agency in the process.

It’s totally irrelevant, because it’s just your opinion, and your opinion isn’t relevant to the team’s decision making.

also it’s my opinion that your opinion is wrong, which makes it doubly irrelevant.

We are all reliant on the media for information. Other rational posters mentioned the negative media bias and the fact that Gonzo is a better player than Asante. I acknowledged and agreed with both points. Like it or not, both players are/were elite.

AGAIN, I think Gonzo is great and I want the team to find a way to resign him. Why does it matter to you that I happen to believe that there is too much smoke around Gonzo to dismiss the fact that he has diva tendencies? It is the norm for players at that position.
The only "smoke" is coming from whatever you're puffing on. You took the BS from Felger now you're claiming " Diva tendencies". You're compounding your dumb take.

GOtta love when the fool- brigade starts projecting their issues onto the players.

You're irrelevant and you're opinion is doubly so.

As we all know premium positions

CB, LT,QB, EDGE

All command specific salaries especially for gonzo who is a top 5 player at his position.. Vrabel knows fully what his CB is worth and it's merely a matter of time before both sided get a deal done..

Reports said they talked at the combine so from my understanding negotiations can go all the way through the offseason even into the season...

It's going to happen.. a matter of when is the only thing.

What's hilarious about the fanboys of the Boston Sports Doomsayers is they are actually the ones who always have their panties in a bunch, and their tiny little nutsacks firmly clenched in their pinky fingers anytime Drake Maye doesn't convert a 3rd and 12 in the first quarter against the Jets, and call him a bust and call for his release when he throws interceptions in practice. Unfortunately for them their endless pearl clutching is well documented in any thread about the opening hours of free agency, throughout the draft, during camp, and in every game day thread. They are as soft as wet toilet paper and as fickle as every 22 year old girl that married a 90 year old billionaire. In short they are a bunch of ****ies trying to act brave and projecting all of their inadequacies onto those who don't think the game is over because of a fumble in the 2nd quarter, or that the season didn't end with a loss on the 3rd Sunday in September. And to those who disagree with this just ask yourself this simple question, when the propane tank blows up and the house on fire who would you rather be stuck with, the guy who calls the fires department, or the wannabe bodybuilder shrieking hysterically that his collection of Justin Bieber posters will be lost forever?

I apologize that I let one posters personal attacks after repeated attempts to diffuse the situation post some exaggerations I don't really believe. Between this situation and the posts about the NFL's anti trust exemption, I am reminded that this site gets too toxic during the offseason and too many discussions break down to unhealthy intolerance of other opinions and mature psychologists projecting what other posters think. This site has a lot of knowledge to share, go Pats.

I agree, probably this goes into the regular season, they need to see where they stand, if they somehow find a gem at Edge or WR in the draft, they know Maye's extension is coming soon so having a better picture to where they stand helps setting up Gonzo's extension.

Agreed.. as for Gonzo I know that this off season he's eligible for an extension..but i still believe he's probably still an off season away from really securing the bag..however because he's eligible now and he's seen what his contemporaries in Sauce, mcduffie got in mega deals.. he wants a piece of the pie.. wich he fully deserves..

RK commented today at the owners meetings, expressing confidence about a deal getting done, realizing the sooner is the better.
ultimately this comes down to Vrabel and Wolf, with RK not standing in the way of a deal.
Listening to Wolf, I would say he wants to make a deal.
I think Vrabel has to make a deal, sending the message that if you perform at the highest level here, you will be taken care of. in an offseason, coming off a SB appearance, the team pretty much ignored their own free agents.
