Patriots Rumor A.J. Brown trade rumors heat up - Should Patriots get him?

A report indicating the Patriots are potentially in the market for this player, or have expressed or plant to express interest.
We can all agree that Buffalo doesn't have WR's for Allen to throw to, an unreliable defense and the only reason they are competitive is because of Josh Allen. At the same time, I see posters blaming Josh Allen for his postseason failures.

When Diggs was there, they didn't have a running game and defense was terrible. Now they have a running game, but are putrid at WR and still have terrible defense allowing 33 to Denver. This is why Allen continues to struggle - there is no balance.

But posters are in denial if they think Allen wouldn't be the worst possible matchup for the Pats when he is 9-3 against them including a playoff beatdown since 2020. That 2nd meeting against the Bills up 21-0, only to lose was extremely disappointing. The Bills didn't have a good defense, but Drake had a really had time throwing against them. It would've been even worse had they met again with the Pats awful OL. Bills would've ran Cook/Allen relentlessly until the Pats cracked like they did in the Super Bowl.
Josh has had great wide receivers, Josh has had a good defense. Josh hasn't been able to win the big game. All of the ball washing in the world doesn't fix that. One person can and it is Josh himself. Maybe he will eventually, maybe he won't, maybe a new coach will make it better and maybe he won't. Part of the issue is he is paid a really high salary, which makes it tough to fix the other issues.

Not keen on giving up a first rounder because a WR can block.
You're in luck, he can also catch and get open.

I'm not keen on giving up a first rounder either, but the entire package is the only reason I'd even consider it.

I might agree if I thought he could still get open. The video I see of him now it looks like he's wearing cement overshoes.

Maybe 2 second rounders and a player (Douglas?) might get it done.

Eagles just signed Brown’s best buddy from Ole Miss, Elijah Moore.
They will not trade him unless they get a first and a second even after June 1.

They hold on to him for 1 more year

Pats better have plan B and I hope its not Diggs

Fact or opinion Sam, you seem to mix the two up constantly.

Facts are objective, verifiable statements that can be proven true with evidence, while opinions are subjective beliefs, feelings, or interpretations that cannot be proven
Facts remain consistent, whereas opinions vary by person. Recognizing this difference is crucial for critical thinking and identifying bias in media, advertising, or daily life.

You don't get it though.

There you go again. This is one of those things you do that annoys people. You go make outlandish statements as if they are fact when in reality you have no idea. Then when called out you defend it, then when you are proven wrong, again and again, you move on to the next ridiculous statement. Add an I think to your statements it will help temper your message.

Act like he is not coming here because I doubt we make that trade for him. I rather we trade a 2nd for Olave!

I think Joe Burrow will have something to say about who the best QB in the league is.
But he has to win and likely will need a change of scenery for that to happen. That Cincy D will never keep teams from dropping 30+ per game.

Joe Burrow has an MVP vote?

Sam thinks his opinions are facts.

AJ Brown would have been worth a 1st too.

When the Titans traded him.

As usual Patsfans acting like GM's should operate out of desperation.

" The Patriots HAVE to give the Eagles 3 first rounders, or they won't win a game next year!!!"

If the end result of the Patriots upgrading WR is to sign Diggs back at a better price, and draft a WR in the first 3 rounds I will have no problem with that. Signing Doubs, bringing back Diggs, and adding a WR prospect will give them a good receiving unit while retaining the ability to add Edge and tackle prospects in the draft. They will have plenty of young WR's to develop, and be in great shape to re-sign Gonzalez and then Maye. As much as many will dislike it developing their young players is the way to maintain a contender while paying your top players. That requires patience from the organization, and fans need to deal with it.

I think…..

Rob Ninkovich was on 98.5 today and he thought the Patriots would be absolutely insane not to draft a tackle with their overall #1 pick. He mocked the idea of trading for a WR with high draft picks or drafting an edge rusher first.

I 100% agree with Ninkovich.

I think that mentality of absolutely having to pick a position is incredibly short sighted.

The very strong likelihood is that there will not be any tackle at 31 with a consensus first round, or possibly even second round grade. What do you do then, just draft some mediocre talent cos you just have to have a tackle, while leaving a potentially elite player at a different position on the board?

Personally, I don't like any of this years tackle class in the first round at all and would certainly not be choosing one at 31.

Are you implying they will not trade AJ Brown because they signed Elijah Moore. If that is what your implying…

There should be a tackle available.

If Drake Maye is constantly on his butt, that's very bad. Worse than a WR not separating, worse than no pressure on the opposing QB.
