Patriots Rumor A.J. Brown trade rumors heat up - Should Patriots get him?

A report indicating the Patriots are potentially in the market for this player, or have expressed or plant to express interest.
Agreed. The AJ situation kinda reminds me of randy moss.. ultra talented but had some issues.. although AJ from what I've followed on his is a consummate professional off the field. It's a matter of time at this point before AJs in a patiots uniform.
Difference being Randy could still separate. In a big way. Brown, not so much.

Easy to cherry pick stats.
He also leads the league in total TDs the last 3 years by a large margin.
He’s great in fantasy football.
He has 21 turnovers in the last 2 years, Maye has 27.
Comparing him to a rookie is not a good take.
Everyone has their opinion, not going to try and change anyone’s mind.
I sincerely hope he is as bad as some here think, should make our task of winning the division that much easier.
Not bad, but he seems to falter when it matters most and has had the luxury to be on really talented teams.

His salary cap charge has steadily gone up and the team around him has gotten worse. If he had a window to win a ring it seems to be shrinking.

The question is how much of Brown's drop off was because of his situation?

If you look at Moss with the Raiders, there were a lot questions about his skills at that point. Randy Moss with the Raiders was a mediocre receiver his last year there. Not for Randy Moss. For the entire league. He looked toast there. That is why the Pats got him for next to nothing.

AJ brown has never ever been such a huge separation guy what made him great is his abilities to make contested catches in traffic and beat man coverage..he also is dam physical specimen and bullies DBs in the running game.. he out muscles his man for the ball more often than not.

Randy was one year away from washing out

Good point.

Allen was facing a depleted Pats defense, not the one that was shutting teams down in the playoffs.
Josh Allen would have carved us up with or without Williams or Spillane who by the way were the 2 guys missing.. there was still gonzo, Davis, chassion, Davis on the defense that game.. I think Barmore too..

At some point we have to as pats fans tip our hats to great players.. Josh Allen is the best QB In the league with and it's hard to shut him down.. if not for his TOs they probably blow Denver out.

Speaking for myself I sure as hell wouldn't had wanted to face Allen In the AFCCG. Not with him being a game away from a superbowl on the line.. plus our offense was ass all playoffs..

...asked everybody in North America for the last few months, with no reply forthcoming.

6 SEVen, as the kids say, but we don't know why.
Whenever my grandkids do the 6 7 thing I equate it to the alphabet and say ****ing god with an eyeroll

I think Joe Burrow will have something to say about who the best QB in the league is.
But he has to win and likely will need a change of scenery for that to happen. That Cincy D will never keep teams from dropping 30+ per game.

The problem is that the narrative that people are using around here to cope on not having a great receiving core is that teams that have a WR1 actually aren’t good and you need to spread it around. The truth is you have to invest your resources wisely. We know that the majority of Super Bowl winners have had a 1000 yard receiver. Keeping Tee Higgins instead of trading him for picks was the first mistake. The second mistake with keeping Hutchinson and not trading him for picks two years ago. Those picks would have helped that defense provided of course they picked the right players. The Eagles have nailed the draft and they also currently have two top shelf WR options in Smith and Brown. Smith fits their offense better and is more dynamic. The Pats have no one on the roster close to either of these guys in terms of talent. The problem with Smith is that he disappears in big games which is why he ends up with a very underwhelming stat line.

AJ Brown Justin Jefferson or whoever they find as that number 1 receiver needs to be dependable. Hunter Henry is the most dependable option on offense. That’s going to be a problem. They cannot afford to have Henry Boutte or Doubs take a step back otherwise they’re screwed.

Josh Allen is the best QB in the league.. I had to finally stop denying it and admit it there's not defensive scheme that can stop him.. he stops himself by committing TOs and he's protected by giants on the offensive line..

Our offense was ass in the playoffs.

But Buffalo’s D was nowhere remotely close to the level of Houston, Denver or LA.

Agreed. I'm simply referring to our offense in the postseason.. we saw some great defensive teams.. I feel Houston front was nightmarish.. they have the best front in the league.. I would not have wanted to see Josh Allen a 3rd time in the AFCCG with him being play off battle tested and a game away to win it against us...

Many fans don't consider what AJ Brown does for the run game as well. High level blocker.

No way I would have traded Hutchinson for picks. Hendrickson on the other hand….

Boutte and Doubs have yet to reach their peak. Boutte will show this season if he was a fluke. Hunter Henry is past his prime but still reliable. The only step back he’ll take this year is injury or overworked.

You're not. Draft a receiver over the first 2 days of the draft.
Deep EDGE draft. Why would you take anything other than EDGE Linebackers and OLine during the first two days. Maybe a TE. The WR you draft high probably won’t help you this year or next. Now you’re looking at year three. Maybe you envision whoever you’re drafting high in this draft and Kyle Williams being the guys in 3 years. I’m not sure.

If you want to get the most out of Maye the next couple of years though you need to have someone better than Doubs as your WR1. Brown is the only available one who fits that profile

Josh Allen is the best QB In the league.. I have to admit that.. I agree he can commit silly TOs but I didn't want to see him in the AFCCG seen as how we barely beat stink-ham... is all i was trying to say..
There's no one I'd rather have wildcard weekend than Josh Allen.

After that...Best QB in the league...I'm scared of what you and the people who agree with you have as bars for that particular entry.

He's literally never led the league in a single metric. Except fanboys.

When they go 9-8 this year, and he has more turnovers, promise me you'll still be calling him the best QB in the league. He's not even the best QB in his division, let alone the conference.

By the way, the hero-worship has to start with something *other* than "He has no weapons" or "His defense sucks". Because both of those are directly on him for essentially running the franchise now.

Josh Allen is not the best QB in the league. Maybe most talented, certainly most physically gifted, but not the best. He's too inconsistent, too careless, too mentally fragile.

If you were starting a two minute drive at your own 10, down by 6, and could choose any QB in the league to get behind center, Josh Allen would be a bad choice
