He was worth the 5 mill we paid, he wasn’t worth 12.one year 12m is short money, which we could have easily covered...
Unless there were a lot of red flags behind the scenes, it really doesn't make sense that we did not bring him back... maybe this year was a fluke, but it would have been nice to see if he could have strung a couple good years together in New England...
One thing to remember is that this EDGE class is supposed to be a really good and deep one. I think the team expects to draft at least one and they may already rate whatever rookie they get as better than Chaisson.
I agree with this. And the rest of the league agrees since he signed a one year deal. I thought he was pretty solid and I would have brought him back for one year at 12 million but the Pats coaches clearly do not agree. SB1 appears to be correct in his analysis of Chaissons play and the Patriots saw it the same way. Need to shore up edge, I would guess that is the first pick in the draft.Considering they were looking for edge rushers at the trade deadline, I don't think they were that impressed by Chaisson.
A word i hadn't thought of in years popped into my head when i read this...Stupefying for not bringing him back at that price. In todays market thats peanuts
Doesn't make sense not to bring him back at that price.
Its' a deep draft at EDGE so no question top 3 but yes, this adds to the need factorMy belief is that this makes EDGE in the first all but inevitable. I don't think Jones and Landry as starters can be the answer.
And rightly so. He was just a big liability against the run.Considering they were looking for edge rushers at the trade deadline, I don't think they were that impressed by Chaisson.

I'm stupefied by the number of years, the amount he got and why we didn't re-sign him.
I thought chenel signed with the commanders yesterdayI loved his effort a lot of his sacks came on second effort on QB's driven out of the pocket, but he was a one trick pony who couldn't set the edge.
Not signing him will make sense if we sign Chenal. I really like what I've read about him
Signed a one year contract with the Commanders after a one year deal with the Pats.I think either we didn't want him back or he was peeved that we didn't offer him a big deal and would rather go elsewhere on a bigger prove-it deal.
Signings aren't official until 4pm EST unless the player was a Street Free Agent or had been cut by their previous team. Players / teams can change their mind before the 4pm EST official Start time of NFL Free Agency.I thought chenel signed with the commanders yesterday
