NFL News Maxx Crosby to Ravens (Update - Ravens Backing Out of the Deal)

Share the latest NFL news from around the league here.
Any number 1 is a number 3 if there are 2 better receivers than him

Thank you. This #1 receiver idea has become so entrenched that is resembles celebrity measurement more than anything to do with football.

Guys become "#1" on their teams, and thus in the League, because of 1. there talent and hard work, and 2. the circumstances of the receiver room, offensive system and effectiveness, and QB play. All of those things must happen to rise to that status.

They most likely did some strength/stability tests on the knee and learned he still has issues. Also it might not be healing they way it should from his surgery in January. Might have done an MRI as well. He could have a degenerative condition?

I believe BAL wanted to do the deal in good faith but his medical condition made it impossible to go through with it.
Of course, but why pass up a conspiracy theory when you have a chance?

Crosby to the Pats for a conditional 4th
Heh. That'd be nice. Maybe Tom will have another of his weepy sentimental spells and let it happen. More likely, though, some ill-run team will offer far more than that, as I'm sure you know, and Crosby can become a very expensive decorative object ensconced on their IR rather than on ours.

The Ravens should be docked draft picks for this

They absolutely just changed their mind and figured they could get Trey Hendrickson without giving up the draft capital

It's real scumbag behaviour
Remember those halcyon days when "sports builds character" was the mantra? That mantra is now a delusion: at the pro level, at the college level, even to a degree at the high school level. Let's not pretend that your and my fascination with this stuff ought to be anything other than a guilty pleasure. This is a business, dress it up however you will, of paying guys irresponsible sums to run into one another until their brains and bodies stop working right. It's fun to watch, sort of like those pit maneuver videos on YouTube. At least in that sport, bad guys get locked up.

Doesn’t pass the sniff test to me. If it was that detailed we would have heard about it. That’s my sense anyway.
What do you think transpired? Fan pressure?

I totally disagree.
I think Baltimore wanted to do the deal until they noticed Trey Hendrickson was still unsigned, and wouldn't have to give up 2 first round picks for him.
The "medical issue" is a smokescreen. The guy had meniscus surgery less than two months ago. Everyone knows this, none of it was a secret.
Hendrickson also has medical issues.

The Ravens had second thoughts and just thought we can sign Hendrickson for just money and keep our two first round picks, all of the other stuff is just PR.

They came to their senses to get 80% of the player for 20% of the total cost they get an extra 2 potential starters by keeping their 2 picks.

Why? Did you expect Baltimore to give out detailed information and violate HIPPA?

Shocking.

They'd better sign him first, before they realize he has medical issues.

Total horseshit.
Its legal cause of the tampering period but holy **** this is shady.
And some how after all the signings Oakland can move some money around and still keep Crosby.
Ravens 100% bailed when trey lowered his amount by $5 million a year.

Doesn't HIPPA only apply to medical professionals not NFL teams or media

I think they spoke to Hendrickson and thought this is a better deal cause we can keep our picks and the Crosby medical stuff is just a cover, i would be willing to bet that Crosby recovers as expected perhaps is even still traded and the other team finds no issues.

Name the last time a professional team was held accountable for violating a hippa law. I'll wait.
