NFL News Maxx Crosby to Ravens (Update - Ravens Backing Out of the Deal)

Share the latest NFL news from around the league here.
I also think LV is in good shape for a rapid turnaround.
Good offense minded coach
Got rid of Geno Smith
Lots of high draft picks

I was ecstatic when the Bill signed Von Miller. While I'm not feeling exactly the same about this...I'm still of the belief that 9 times out of 10 signing a 29 yo to a new team and getting the same production...it ain't happening.

I don't see this move re-creating that... They should win their division though, so thats a checkmark in the "good move" box... but then again the rest of the division is floundering, so i think we uncheck that box for now...

Just seems like a waste of resources to me... two years ago? good move... now, its eh, why?

Im with you here despite the consensus seeming to think this makes bmore favorites in the afc. I just don’t see it. I get that lamar was injured last year but he was active for the 2 games that decided the division against pitt and the ravens lost both games! Pitt is not even that good. Dont see how crosby elevates them to this degree.

Maybe if they did this after the 2023 season or possibly 2024 but they have slowly declined year by year since.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around that.. maybe I'm a dumbass... wouldn't be the first time.

Thanks

Looks like Raiders traded Crosby to Ravens for 2 first rounders. Link to follow.
Wow that's a heavy price. Crosby is a good player but given the choice I'd rather just pay Hendrickson a lot of money in free agency.

If Vrabel can land Milton Williams when we were 4-13 surely he could persuade Hendrickson that NE is a favorable destination after we made it to the Superbowl?

Hendrickson thinks he's worth 40 MILLION.
FK THAT LITTLE ****.

The Ratbirds know that the AFCN has won this year's Schedule Lottery, with the AFC and NFC Souths, the two worst divisions in football. All of the AFCN teams should be stocking up.

It doesn't happen often, but last year's Schedule Lottery winner, the NFCW, also had both of the Souths and they went from two below average and two slightly about average teams to three of their four teams having 12 wins the very next season.

The four team divisions are still a big joke and it gets worse because of the schedule imbalance. This coming season one of Atl, Car, NO or TB are guaranteed a playoff spot as well as one of Hou, Ind, Jac or Ten. And it doesn't matter if they're record is 7-10 or worse.

One good thing about the Crosby trade is that it could help Lamar get into the playoffs so he can some day catch up to Manning's one-and-done playoff record.

Feel free to believe in LV.
Mendoza will be a better QB than Mike Vick impersonator Fraud Jackson.
I'm sure the mediots, analysts and bettors might even believe that BAL is now washed up and will be less of a threat to win their division than LV and get into the playoffs. NOT now, and NOT for at least 3 years.
At least nobody can take those Division Champ banners away from the Ravens after they choke again.

Im sure you'll have a litany of excuses about why Lamar was robbed again.

Not surprised at all.

New England means nothing to Tim Brady.

I want to start a petition to unretire 12

dude has really turned into an un-likeable *******.
Folks seem to think that Brady would be a good trading partner for NE.

I find that to be very, very unlikely.
========
However, in this case, BAL offered two 1sts and Brady jumped at the deal.

Do YOU think that there was any chance of NE giving up two firsts, and BTW two first that are likely to be less valuable than BAL firsts?

I think he blacklisted us.

So it does not matter what i think we would have offered

According to to Adam Schefter there were two teams dealing with Raiders, Dallas and Baltimore and both were offering the same type of of package which included one first round pick, then Baltimore called adding the second round pick. Now maybe the Pats were in the mix early on in the process.

That's probably true.

However, the BAL offer was significantly better than 2 NE firsts.

What additional pick each year in addition to the firsts do you think NE was willing to give.

only one year is significantly better... the second year pick is unknown

i think we were sniffing around early on... I think we were told at that point that there would be no deal... so no offer was ever made...

If we got Crosby instead of BAL, their pick would likely be better than ours.

they will still have a higher pick than us, so its a moot point...

Tim Brady wasn't going to deal with us on a game changer type player at this point... maybe a few years down the road... but not a year after a super bowl run...

All of what you said here concerning Crosby is just speculation.

If the Patriots had offered two 1sts they would have been in the mix but I seriously doubt they were ever going to top the Ravens offer now that we know the details of the trade. 2026 1st (#14) plus 2027 1st.

Since Vrabel said he wants to go younger and cheaper, I very much doubt two 1sts were ever on the table from us for Crosby.
