I think the angle people aren’t thinking about in all of this:

Maybe Tom is seeing the way we’ve wrapped our arms around Maye, and has a part of him that’s jealous, feeling replaced in that regard? Maybe bringing back bitter feelings of how things ended here, with him being let go.

That would be very irrational on his part. But we know Tom’s competitive nature was always centered on being super irrational. I think it’s become something that’s been to a fault in this stage of his life. Seems like something about this hits him too close to home.

I don’t love how Tom’s distanced this team at arms length right now. But before telling the guy FU, keep in mind that same personality was a driving factors in winning us 6 Super Bowls. You take the good with the bad.

Without getting too deep into this topic, I do think there’s a part of him that doesn’t like to see the Pats be too successful without him. Could be wrong of course, but that’s the sense I get.

Exactly my thought.

I could just see the competitive side of him coming out in that way. Like in his mind, him seeing us winning now is some slight against what he accomplished.

Brady has taking his fame to a couple of very lucrative marketing deals. Both in the broadcast booth to part ownership of LV. A good broadcaster tries to not show favoritism so that both sides watching do not feel slighted and angered. So you to have keep neutral to continue. Part Ownership as a front man for the team trying to attract players that can help the Raiders. He needs to stay loyal or his word as the welcome wagon would be tarnished. More important the fanbase would go nuts.

I like the Patriots Brady much better. He is doing what he needs to do to better his career. When doing that we lose the Boston darling that we cherished. I do believe this will soften over the years. Tom has become kind of plastic but I will never begrudge a man from bettering himself. His reputation as a player was over the top preparation. Well the old saying. “A tiger never changes his stripes”. Just my take

He does not need to be a **** to advance his career

Saw he started unfollowing the Patriots account. Duuude . We love you. You have some of the best memories…shoulda had paddle but made it through. You love us.

Brady isn’t part of the Pats organization. He’s a part owner of the Raiders. What kind of “relationship” is he supposed to have with Maye? On his best throws of the year he picked Maye 2X, but outside of stuff like what else do we expect? I thought he fumbled the no dog in this race comment. But if the Patriots wanted Brady to be part of the organization ongoing, then some type of limited ownership deal should have been offered. It wasn’t and now he’s a Raider, which sucks.

Well, as of today, he can say that he's won more SBs than any single franchise. That may not be true much longer.

To Brady he does because he goes all in whatever he does.
Do I wish he was the old Tom. Absolutely. We all have had that feeling that he was all ours. Now he goes in another direction which sucks but I understand why.
I do get the feeling that he is almost trying to over compensate by showing no loyalty to the Patriots. That sucks. I’m just guessing what he is doing based on how he was his whole career here. He has to learn a way to be good at his endeavors without pissing off the fanbase where he made his fame,

Troy Aikman didn't like it during the Tony Romo era where the Cowboys became relevant again. Romo became a celebrity and was dating Carrie Underwood and then Jessica Simpson. Damn! They were the heavy favorite in the NFC in 2007 and Troy loved it while they losing to the Giants in the divisional round. To this day, he still likes to see the Cowboys lose because Aikman is still the #1 QB you think of.

Fast forward to Romo as a broadcaster. He has real beef with Prescott who took his job in 2016. Romo also likes to see them lose and Prescott in particular.

With that said, I don't think Brady is threatened yet by Maye, but it's in their competitive nature to be the only relevant player at their position in franchise history. It may annoy Brady a little bit if Maye wins a Super Bowl in his 2nd year and now be the 2nd QB in Franchise history to do it.

? what platform

I guarantee if Pats lose, all of a sudden Brady will be real nice to Maye
Because the threat to his ego will be gone
Brady did this during his playing days. Anybody remember how fast he ran onto the field to shake hands with Manning and others only to run off at times in big game loses?

Jordan did this with the Pistons. He refused to shake hands until he finally beat them.

Yep.

The fear of failure/ultra competitiveness is what helped lead him to 7 SB wins. At the same time, it's pretty weak to not shake hands after a big loss. Especially since other SB losing QB's shook his hand.

There really is no comparison to be had at this point. Maye might have had a better regular season in year two. But Brady was (to this point) better in the postseason in year two. There is no realistic world where Maye will ever surpass Brady's career. It's not possible.
