NFLTalk reports that Steelers backup running back Chris Fumatu-Ma’afala is visiting with the Pats today. Fumatu-Ma’afala is a restricted free agent who the Steelers tendered at $512,000.
If the Pats sign him to an offer sheet by April 16th the Steelers would then have one week to match the offer. If the Steelers do not match the offer, Fumatu-Ma’afala would cost the Patriots their original 6th round draft pick.
Chris Fumatu-Ma’afala is 5′-11″, 252 lbs. Originally from Hawaii, he is a 4 year veteran who was drafted in the 6th round from Utah. Last year he had an eye-popping 7.1 ypc average and 11 catches for 107 yards through seven games.
