Last night: “Look at me! I was the Herbert vote because value!”

I would have had more respect for this clown named Sam Monson if instead of casting his vote for Herbert he would have simply penciled in.......

I saw on TBD someone suggest Allen should be the MVP, and I think he has a point.

If you take Stafford, Maye, and Allen away from their teams what are their records?

Bills would be competing for the top pick.

I would still have voted for Maye since the Rams have a superior roster and receivers.

The Pats coaching staff is so good though that they would still be better than the Bills.
Without Maye the Patriots wouldn’t have won 5 games

He's a good player but he only played 8 seasons at a position where you can amass a bunch of stats that might ultimately mean nothing for the outcome of the game. I can think of a few other LBs who had longer and equal or better careers who probably won't be in the HOF.

edit: It took Zach Thomas 10 years of eligibility. London Fletcher is not in the HOF. Keith Brooking is not. Demeco Ryans isn't. Will Lavonte David be in the HOF?
While stats are a terrible way to evaluate a LB, it’s ridiculous to say a great LB doesn’t affect a game.

He was far better than the other guys you listed. Not even close.

Here’s how the points ranked. Drake lost by 5 points, the equivalent of one second-place vote

If a few folks who presumably voted Allen or McCaffrey 2nd (since they had 91 and 71 points) had instead voted Drake 2nd, Drake may have won the award even with fewer 1st place votes. Which really would’ve been interesting to watch lol

If that’s the scoring the Maye had 23 votes for 230 and 27 for 131. If all 27 were 2nd place that would be 135 and he would have been 1 vote short.

Tell me you are not a football fan without telling me you are not a football fan.

The dude thinks the value part is ridiculous in a award that is named VALUABLE.

If he wanted to give it to the best player he still picked the wrong guy.

What a joke

Such disrespect for the greatest wildcard round QB of all time.
You sure that's not Allen? Those are the only playoff games he wins.

Who is that? Also who was the guy that turned JSNs name into a racial slur?
Why are these people included?

Did Herbert even appear on another ballot?

Nope. One idiot (Sam Monson) ranked him 1st, no one else even voted him at all for any other spot 2nd through 5th.

Mathew Stafford absolutely deserves the MVP award. No other quarterback in the league could have gotten a team with as little talent to the 5th playoff seed in the NFC. No receiving options, no running back, and a terrible defense. It's amazing they won 1 game.

Now it all makes sense. When it comes to football there a literally no one dumber than Sam Monson. He was the one who made up the " almost intercepted" stat. He's lucky he has family to physically feed him, otherwise he would die of starvation.

I know that it has no bearing on the game, but Maye losing the MVP makes me more confident for Sunday. It just does.
Maye playing in perfect weather makes us feel more confident on Sunday.

If we win the Super Bowl, and especially if we win and Drake gets SB MVP, then it does not matter.

If we lose, it's a real kick in the teeth. Not saying Stafford was undeserving, but it's just wrong that Maye didn't win.

Drake:
- #1 in EPA/play
- #1 Total EPA
- #1 QBR
- #1 Passer rating
- #1 Completion %
- #1 Yards per attempt (if you couple this with the #1 in completion %, you realize how effing insane that is)
- #1 total yards
- #4 in touchdowns

But the schedule!!! Drake had better stats than Stafford (and record) against common opponents. The defenses Drake played were not the easiest schedule - it was middle of the pack. Not to mention, Allen had the 27th ranked SoS last year when he won (another MVP they got wrong - it was obviously Lamar)

Drake's best weapon is a 32 YO receiver coming off a torn ACL. Stafford has Puka, Adams, best offensive coach in the game, Top 10 run game, Top 5 OL

It was a lifetime career achievement award, certain voters even said it (and that Benedict Brady - "he's had just an amazing career, he deserves it")

Completely put a stain on what "most valuable player" means

F em all. Win Sunday.

Do you think Herbert will notice him now after he voted him for MVP? Will Herbert finally answer his DMs? "Wow, Sam voted me 1st place for MVP when no one else even voted for me at all... He really does love me, just like his creepy messages said!"

For the life of me I CANNOT understand all the angst about Drake not winning the MVP award. Rather I took the news that the vote was so close as a plus since most of us expected Stafford to win the award easily all this past week.

Now I personally believe that Drake is a worthy pick for the award, it is impossible to negate the fact that Stafford is ALSO a worthy choice. After establishing that reality, who should get it is a matter of which of the myriad of comparison stats you happen to value the most. After that it is simply another sport argument at the bar, a never ending argument.

Now as to Orlofsky, I don't get the hate. He voted for his friend. Would any of us done differently if we had the chance. Again, it's not like Stafford was an unworthy candidate. And remember, his JOB is to analyze information and make judgements based that info. So when THAT is your job, you are going to be wrong many MANY times. I literally watch sports BECAUSE we can't predict the results with any great regularity. So why should we damn Orlofsky for being wrong this time.
