Maye started 12 games his rookie year. Going into year 2 of his career, that is a tremendous amount of experience to draw from.

Tom had zero starts and very limited game action his rookie year. To some extent BB and Weis protected him.

I also think the offensive talent Maye has this year was better than the 2001 team.
Yup, that 2001 team's strength was defense, which lasted until the year Brady got hurt.
The next part of the dynasty was more offense.
This team seems to do well at both

The easy schedule trope is really easy to defend at this point. It has some validity, but you CANNOT use it explain the last THREE wins, all against teams that won at LEAST 11 games. IF the trope had any meaning the Pats would have been one and done and that would have been it. The fact that they have won all 3 PLUS 2 of them have been by more than one score, nullify any argument that the Pats are only in the Superbowl because of an "easy schedule".

This is one of the easiest defenses on record. We can go full "Masshole" on this and come out smelling like a rose. This isn't a defense you need to fire back with, this one you go give smugly like you do with your "slow" brother in law, or a patient parent with a stubborn child. '

I can understand dismissing the win over the Broncos because of Stidham playing us not Nix but I love the argument that Herbert and Stroud are bad QBs lol. Talk about reaching.

Pats have had an easy schedule but like the 2011 Pats and 1999 Rams they're simply doing what Super Bowl contending teams should do with such a schedule.

I think we'll play the most man coverage that we've seen this year with the Safeties playing Cover-2.

So, going back over things, the 3 primary receiving weapons are JSN, Kupp and Barner. Shaheed is an afterthought, which is shocking to me. 15 catches on 26 targets for 188 yards..

If someone has it, I'd love to find out how many 3, 4, and 5 receiver sets the Seahawks run.. By the looks of it, not many. Which would actually play in the Pats favor because they could put Jones on Kupp and then Davis on Barner.
.
Nah... I don't think so, DB. Both teams are going to live or die by the maxim "NO BIG PLAYS", and will create defensive strategies that force their opponents to have to go on long sustained drives to score TD's. We all know why that's a sound strategy. Every time the offense snaps the ball SO many things have to go right in order for it to be even a marginally successful play, and SO many things can go wrong and something can happen that will kill or end a drive like a penalty, loss or TO.

So, while a Gonzo/JSN match up all game would be great theater for the fans and me personally, I don't see it happening all that often. Since the object of our defensive strategy will be to make Darnold NOT to believe and be comfortable in what he sees, I suspect we get more tight matchup zones coverages. And while the GDT crowd (of which I will likely be part of) will rail against one DB or another for "getting beat", I think the coverages we see the most will make it hard to determine just who has responsibility based just on the TV feed.

I think the coverages we see (on both sides) are going to best described as "next level ****". And I don't envy either QB who are going to have to decipher what the defenses are going to be throwing at them. Just sayin'

They’re only in this game cause the Rams punt returner couldn’t keep his feet on a fair catch.
Reminded me of Kyle Williams sending the Giants to SB46.

Looks like it to me. He was the last one to wear #6. Best guess is that's his one reception in the 8/16/25 pre-season tilt @ Minnesota.
Yes!!! Your right Steve! I thought it was something he may have posted in an attempt to try and make a return to the team.. is he even in the league??

I would like to sign Baker in the off season.

Vrabel’s worked with him a lot in aTC and he seems to have been useful on special teams.

If he has been humbled enough he has the talent to be a player.

Boutte had to grow up some too, and he was worth the wait.

It's a crazy thing to say - that Darnold will be the best QB we've faced in the playoffs thus far... and really since Allen almost 2 months ago. And only Mayfield would be on that level of all the QB's we've faced this year. And Darnold is not afraid to throw it.

We've reaped the benefit of a lot of tentative / inexperienced QB's, so I hope our D (secondary) is ready for bombs away. Because I think we'll do pretty well against their run early on, and I expect them to air it out against us. It'd be like how Stiddy was the first couple drives in DEN, only it won't stop. That makes me nervous.

I don't know. It doesn't seem to matter what the Pats do. They're always the Rodney Dangerfield of dynasties.

I don't feel the pressure for the Pats. I feel like they're playing with house money because nobody expected them to be here. I sure didn't.

Btw, my son and his wife moved to LA and I took a look at the ticket prices on NFL.com, just in case I wanted to surprise them with a couple of tickets. I was the one who got a big surprise. Two tickets for the nosebleed section would cost 13K. Down closer to the field but still on the corner of the endzone would be 20K and mid-field VIP seats range from 50K-65K.

That's a disgusting way to treat the average fans who fill the seats at every stadium all year lon

All of this goes away with a win on Sunday.
It gets fully validated with a resounding loss.
I suspect Vrabel is hammering this home.

I doubt though they will lose because of lack of effort.

Interesting.. I actually don't think Darnold is the best QB we've faced I'd say it's Herbert.. our defense isn't getting the credit they rightfully deserve..remember post chargers game the players saying they didn't know what defense we were jn.. Stroud even better we confused him and turned him over..

I will say this about Darnold.. he went to a ready made Seattle roster . He's done well there but he can be had.. I fully expect us to take away JSN and make Darnold have to go elsewhere..

The biggest advantage the Seahawks have is the PR game. Between Barringer's horrendous punting, and Shaheed's returning, that's a very concerning aspect of this game - the field position battle. Because if we're giving them shorter fields, and we're frequently starting around our own 10-15 yard line - we will lose.

They're playing with house money. This was a team that not even the most optimistic predicted to be in the Super Bowl even when it was known they'd have an easier than normal schedule.

even if your playing with house money, losing it all on a huge bet and going back to even is not a great feeling.

Herbert is better than Darnold, the same people who switched up on Herbert in the media will be having him as one of the top QBs if the Chargers start the first month of the season well.

If Darnold turns into a pumpkin they'll all just say "well they played Darnold who sucks"

I am more concerned about Offense scoring points than D holding SEA to a manageable score.
On offense, hoping McDaniels will consider unleashing Kyle Williams.
Separation by WR's against SEA DB's could be major challenge for offense.

I like the idea of intermittent no huddle early in game.
Would also like to see more production from Henry

For all the talk about Pats Red Zone woes, people seem to forget that the Pats had the 2nd most points scored this year... I'm not worried about the Pats scoring points. Not when the Pats put up points on the Bills, on Cleveland (when they had the #1 D) and on the Texans.

Our o-line is a concern vs their d-line.
