Everybody stop with how lucky we are to be tied at 7, etc. Maybe a little. Stiddy hit one long pass, Drake took a couple hits. They haven't been heads and shoulders better than us... they missed a 50+ yd FG, people are saying "lucky" - that's the normal outcome. It was 50+, right?
That's my take-away right now. Overall Stidham is playing at the high end of what we'd expect and Denver's defense is more often than not shutting down our receivers. We haven't had any big plays on offense, just a great defensive play that gave us a short field and a quick 7 points. I feel it could be a LOT worse than a 7-7 tie at the half.
I have to keep reminding myself Maye is only in his 2nd year. I just hope he can improve being a pocket passer. Drop, plant and throw. Find the 3rd receiver, call audibles. NCAA sucks in preparing quarterbacks for the NFL today. Hardly any true pocket passers.
