If the Pats Win Today . . .

Honestly, if they win this, it will probably be the most difficult game of the entire run. Neither the Rams nor Seattle are teams they can't beat. And if we're being 100% truthful, I put this up there with what Manning did in 2006. The Patriots were his toughest opponent, and had it not been for everybody being sick, that game probably would have gone the other way.

Meanwhile, he ended up facing a Bears team that New England would have dominated, yet it was all Peyton could do to win that one (and he was named MVP if I recall).

So I'm excited...because if they pull this one out, I really do like their chances. Neither of those two remaining teams worry me as much as today's does.
I see it the other way. I think this is the easy game. Seattle will be tough, but there is the Darnold factor (probably why you aren’t concerned I bet). The Rams don’t worry me too much but they are better than a Stidham led overrated defense Broncos.
On the other hand next one us a neutral site.

I agree. Winning means they overcame history (0-4 there in the postseason), noise, and the altitude. It's a weight lifted. It wouldn't surprise me if they were more nervous for this game than the nerves for a potential SB in two weeks. It's also important for Maye to have a very good to great game. Doing so would flush away the last two outings and give him more confidence. It has been rare for him to have two poor/not good games in a row. I don't believe he has ever had three such games in a row in the NFL.

Of course, Seattle and the Rams beating NE would not be a surprise. Everyone acknowledges their greatness. To your point, they have defeated these teams and there is no bad history.

If we win today, do you guys prefer Rams or Seahawks in the Super Bowl?

I think the Rams would be the easier match, they almost lost to the Panthers and Bears and I think we are better than the Panthers and Bears

maust helped Betsy Ross sew the first one.

Don't even get me started on how jealous the Mrs got over Betsy flashing those ankles

That's a narrow window you were born in.

There couldn't be that many of you.
Probably about 2.8 million.
Alaska admitted 1/3/1959-Hawai'i admitted 8/21/59. that 250 days apart. 250/365 x 4.3 million americans born that year ( still end of Baby Boom)=2.8 million born and 80% still alive so 2.2 million....
Can the game start already!!!!!

I would rather face Darnold than Stafford. Watching him implode last year and the history of ghosts versus a guy who already won a super Bowl.

Yea I thought about that also, facing a QB with no SB experience, I think Darnold has a good number of turnovers this year.

I was at that Playoff game.

It was so hot in that dome and Indy players wore mesh jerseys that looked a whole lot cooler. Dungy or somebody, taped the crown noise and played it back over the speakers on top of the fans being loud. I know because the tape skipped and kept repeating itself. The Pats would have waxed Lovie Smith and Rex Grossman in the Super Bowl.

Seahawks. Stafford is a much better QB than Darnold. Hawks Defense is better, but Stafford could hang 35 on us with a great game.

Darnold has turned the ball over a lot.

14 INTs and 11 fumbles. Stafford and the Rams are the tougher matchup.

I will go to my grave with the thought that Steve Grogan was an excellent QB. It’s not just because I played softball with him a few times either. Haha

Please win today.
I didn't play softball with him and I think he was an excellent QB.

I don’t know how half the seattle team ain’t sick right now. Literally 3/4 of the people I know (I live in Seattle) are sick right now. Crazy flu going around right now.

Agreed. Stafford is legit, Super Bowl QB with big time weapons.

Pats had 1 playoff win in their first 26 years of existence
They had 4 wins in their first 36 years (3 in one year)
7 wins in their first 41 years of existence and now....
32 wins in the last 25 years (at least one win in 15 of those years)
Us old folks ( I was born when there were 49 stars on the flag) remember and appreciate every...single... playoff... win....
Every 10 years or so the Pats would have a good team - 76, 85, 96. But something bad would always happen, every time. Being a Pats fan was like Mike Corleone trying to leave the Family. They always pulled you back in. People wanted to believe in the Pats, but they were cursed. The Red Sox were also cursed, but they could lose every game and Fenway was still full of fans. The Celts owned Boston and the Bruins had cred from the Orr days and because Boston is a hockey town. The Bruins could have bad years as long they fist fought with the Canadians and other hated franchises - which there was no shortage of.
