This is of course logically equivalent to saying that having an elite quarterback means nothing, given that "not anything" and "nothing" are equivalent expressions. If having such a qb means nothing, then it obviously means that having one is not an advantage, which it obviously is. If that is not what you intended, then it's just a problem of expression rather than of thought, and a simple edit is in order. Not a big deal, I know, but as I am a semi-retired teacher (English and philosophy), I am an annoying stickler on such things. I am currently teaching an adult-ed course at the local college in writing poetry, and even students who pay to have me edit their stuff complain about what a damned fusspot I am. I will try to be less annoying, but I can't guarantee complete success, based in my record in such things.Who said that it isn't advantageous to have a great QB? I wrote that having one simply doesn't imply that you have ''house money'' years, because the two most decorated QB's of this era after Mahomes are in this league for 8 years and they haven't been to a Super Bowl yet.
''Having a great QB doesn't mean anything'' was admittedly a very poor choice of words, it would mean that whether you have a great QB or not is irrelevant, which is obviously inane, as it's by far the most important position. But having Maye for the future does not mean that missing a wide open AFC is not a big deal, it IS a big deal because you never know when the dealt cards would be this good again, Maye could get injured, he could regress, the team could draft badly, other teams in the AFC could become a lot better, etc..
I hope this was intentional, because I know you're referring to Jarret Stidham.Jason Statham
JarrettI hope this was intentional, because I know you're referring to Jarred Stidham.
Foles didn’t come into until the las coupe games of the year.
Some of you guys fall for the rat poison every time, and haven’t learned a single thing from the last 20 years.
My joke remains.Jarrett
It's like getting in a fist fight with an 80 year old dude.If we play Denver, I will worry about Stidham having the game of his life. If somehow we don’t play them, I will be cheering for him.
I always thought his name was Jarred. Lol.Jarrett
Jared is the Subway guy. LOLI always thought his name was Jarred. Lol.
Are we allowed to talk about this now?
I think the good weather is going to make a big difference. Is anyone gonna bring up the fact that that McDaniels was this man's head coach?
That feels like a pretty good advantage to have in house.
Edit* Stidham that is.
I think the good weather is going to make a big difference.
Patriots won two home games in **** weather - no one wants to talk about that, but it effects everyone.
They're going to need to get off to a good start - comebacks in the altitude are doubly tough.
I like the Patriots in the game, like I said.I maintain and will stick with my take that losing to Stidham who hasn't played a game in 2 years in the AFC championship game with a sole weeks worth of practice against this Patriots defense coming off 14 out of 15 wins or something like that would be a clear indication that despite everything that has gone the Patriots way so far that they would not of been real contenders.
Of course I was wrong from the jump. I had them as too good to suck but to ****ty to be good. So Its not like my takes are infallible.
They have no business losing this game though. That I believe.
I like the Patriots in the game, like I said.
I just don't think it's going to be a walkover because it's Stidham instead of Nix.
There are a few veterans and champions in that locker room and on the coaching staff - they're going to need to lean on those guys this week, there's a wealth of experience there to draw from.
Buffalo moved the ball at-will on Denver. We'll see who's 'easy schedule' was more favorable, I guess.
The Denver defense and offense are still intact. Anything can happen, the blind squirrel effect. Regardless, if our defense can shut down their run game, we should be alright.I like the Patriots in the game, like I said.
