Does everyone remember two years ago, everyone was saying "we're done, we have no shot"...look what happened....I'm not saying this is going to happen, but I know we're not as bad as we played and what the score indicated today...
Really good post and fair points all across the board. The qb is the biggest question mark, which Cam do we have ,the one we saw for the 1st three games or the last two?

Great question. Watching him today looks like he has lost his confidence that we saw the first three games. Bill just said in his presser he is starting next week. Teams are loading the box and making it hard to run the ball. I am interested to see the game plan Bill and Josh come up with for next week. I am afraid if we can't get the running game going Cam will struggle. I would also like to see more of Dalton Keene and try to get the tight ends involved. I am on to the Bills. :)

It's really puzzling, we look like two different teams...the good team that can compete with any team in the league for the first 4 games and a really bad team that looks like we belong in last place the last two games
We have a depth problem and have very little margin for era for guys being out or having off days

This team is badly affected by covid, how do you go from almost beating Seattle to this?

not just that, but beating miami and Oakland which are not at all bad teams. They looked like a team that can really compete. I guess we’ll find out very sooon if we are capable of getting back there or if we’ve been figured out and the last two weeks are what the team is.

I watched Joe Kapp at Harvard Stadium while sitting in the snow. Joe threw the ball like
it was a loaf of bread. The ball did not spiral.
Damn, I remember being at Harvard, BU's Nickerson Field, BC, Fenway and of course the awesome aluminum benches of Schaeffer/Sullivan. Theres only one home venue I never got to- and Im betting no one else in this forum did either:
Birmingham,Alabama. Yes, the Patriots once played a HOME game in Birmingham, Alabama. ( thats for the millenials,Jimke,I know you knew that)
The story behind it is typical Billy Sullivan clown-show ineptitude.

we have had these type of games before although anamolies e..g the 41-17 charger game in 2005. It happens. but the problem is that they havent played well last 3 weeks and things are moving up.
The Patriots of the dynasty years rarely lost two games in a row, let alone two poorly played games in a row. They did have awful performances from time to time, but they came roaring back the following week. These past two losses make me pessimistic for the remainder of the season.

How about BIAS? Or better yet. How about completely disingenuous. The fact is that you're attempting to compare times when BB was either COMPLETELY rebuilding a franchise (Cleveland) or the year there that the Owner screwed the team. Or the fact your comparing it to times when Brady wasn't even in HS..

People like yourself call it "facts" because you think it makes you sound smart. It doesn't. People who are actually smart, see through the BS and know that you don't know what you are talking about. They know you can't objectively compare the 3 years BB was rebuilding a franchise that had been complete S**T prior to taking over to BB continuing as the HC of a franchise that he'd built for continuous competition for 19 years. People like you point to the 11-5 season and say that BB can't make the play-offs without Brady, but you ignore that it came down to the league having changed the TieBreakers for the Pats to lose out on that season.
You’re going completely off the deep end. He has a losing record as a head coach without Brady. That’s a fact. He’s 2-4 right now in his first season in 12 years without Brady. That’s a fact. My suggestion would be to start being a fan of the TEAM first and the coach second. It’ll help you avoid embarrassing outbursts like this.

Dumb move. Cam is horrendous. TWO TD PASSES ALL YEAR. I don’t think I have to repeat that, but I will. (TWO ****ING TD PASSES ALL ****ING YEAR). SEVEN, SEVEN ****ING INTs. Why would you considering keeping him in there ? This is a Jet kind of move. Embarrassing.

I never doubted Brady’s greatness.
LOL!! You have got to be kidding me...

"Take Brady off this team and put a decent QB in his place in 2019 and I doubt we’re much worse than 12-4 if at all." - sb1
"Bill winning a SB without Brady was much more likely than Brady winning one if Bill wasn’t here." - sb1
"Brady didn’t lead us to jack squat last year." - sb1
"Patriots would have won Super Bowl 36 if Drew started." - sb1
"Careful with those facts and reality. The Bradyites are extra sensitive and triggered today." - sb1

Need I go on...?

I say Cam has one more week. The division is not lost yet but it will be if we lose to the bills. If he looks like dog crap I think they’ll pull the plug.

Kraft didn't "run him out of town." Kraft left it to Bill to decide, and Bill made the wrong choice by a country mile. Bill let his ego get in the way. Instead of running with Brady until it was clear he couldn't play anymore, he decided to try to show everyone he could win without him and he was the reason for the dynasty. They both were important as we wouldn't have 6 super bowls without Bill's coaching or Tom's greatness. Bill wouldn't even let Tom help make personnel decisions on the offensive side of the ball.

Love asinine takes like this one. Shows that despite Belichick having been the coach for 20 years, people still don't have the first clue about him.

Belchick didn't "decide to show everyone he could win without Brady". This goes to show that you're willing to ignore facts and reality.

Since you weren't paying attention. It came out that prior to the 2018 "extension", Brady had told the Patriots he wanted multiple guaranteed years. He didn't want to be playing on a year to year contract. At 41, and being in nearly untested territory, it's easily understandable why Belichick didn't want to make that commitment.

Maybe you should have looked at Brady's actual stats from 2017-2019 before you posted this garbage. If you had, you'd have seen that Brady's stats were DOWN. His completions %. His yards. His TDs. His Ints were up. And yes, that includes acknowledging that Brady's 2019 O-line was a mish-mash since it was without Andrews and that Karras, Cannon, Wynn, and Mason all missed time.

All it would take is a 3year guaranteed contract and Brady having a catastrophic injury in 2019 to have hamstrung the Patriots for 2-3 years. Then what?

Please show me a SUCCESSFUL team that has let a CONTRACT player let "personnel decisions" on the offensive side of the ball? BTW, considering they went out and got Gordon and got Brown, it's hard for anyone to claim that BB didn't listen to his QB in terms of personnel decisions.

The ONLY part of your post that is sensible is your claim that the 6 SB wins and 9 appearances are thanks to them BOTH.

Brady not looking so bad anymore, is he? And to think some people thought he had a bad year last year. When you think of what he was able to accomplish with this offense, it only reinforces his greatness.

I think you make a good point about teams stacking the box against us...our wideouts have to be able to get open. The whole offense just looks off.

Because he knows Stid isn't the guy.

People keep saying we should put Stid in, but what if Cam truly is the better option and BB knows Stid has no chance to win us anything?

And Id say it all again. Anyway I don’t care to rehash all of that, not in the mood to beat a dead horse.

I never doubted his greatness. That greatness didn’t help last year. It’s a fact that he was bad last year and so was the offense. If he stayed it would have been likely more of the same. That is obvious. Now he’s on a great team and playing great and it’s nice to see.

Nope. Maybe 2000, but 2002 and 2005? I can’t recall a game that was worse, can you?
Yes. I can. That's why i mentioned them.

People always want to ignore the complete trash games that Brady had and only remember the great ones. I take them both.

It’s not just with Brady. Pats were 2-4 their last 6 games LAST year WITH Brady. 2-5 if you add the ugly playoff loss. So 4-9 the last 13 games. They just don’t have good players. And that falls on Belichick and his horrible drafting. People flamed me for years for saying that. But it’s come home to roost.

I do think a quick rebuild is possible. We had 7 players opt out that may help us next year, draft well, use your LARGE cap money wisely in free agency. That being said, they need to look themselves in the face and realize they haven’t been drafting well. Ego may get in the way of being able to do that. I would bring in Dimitroff, he ran some good drafts when he was here. The whole thought process on the draft has to change somewhat, I don’t know if ego will allow that.

Team looks good! It’s great to see WRs running open all over the field. Winning against press man. Cam looked spectacular. The run defense was absolutely stout at the point of attack and the team speed is off the charts. I think we’re a lock for the AFCCG, and likely Super Bowl champs.
