Should the Pats have drafted DK Metcalf instead of N'Keal Harry?

Learned to understand football in early 80s, Pat's had some decent teams in mid 80s, lived through squish the fish, bury the bears etc...laughed through Victor Kiam, Hugh Millen, Hart Lee dykes... listened to home games on the radio as they weren't on TV....then everything changed w the #1 pick and Parcells...got seas Tix day they hired Tuna...rest as they say is history...will NEVER root for another team Pat's in my blood, passed on from my father who used to watch them practice in East Boston...was a fan before Brady and bill will be a fan after Brady and bill

....except when they fall behind in playoff games and Super Bowls........

No way. If he could not get open in college, how is he supposed to get open in the NFL? The reason he has to make those spectacular catches is that he is rarely open. Just another big, slow JAG WR.

Your desperate cry for attention has been noted.

Mohamed Sanu seems ready to take mentoring role with N'Keal Harry

Sanu may not be the most prolific receiver, but he has a reputation for his intellect, his execution and his strong fundamentals. He’s a good example for Harry.

“He’s a very, very talented kid, and I’m just trying to teach him little intricacies with the game as far as body position and hand placement — just learning to use his body to his advantage,” Sanu said Wednesday when asked about his conversation with Harry.

The thing is, on this board, as in life in general, there are some people who ***** about everything. Nothing is ever good enough, something could always have been done better. They criticize every decision then trumpet from on high when they are proven right. Which of course does happen occasionally because football, like like, is an in exact science, and no one is perfect. But conveniently, when they are proven wrong, it is never brought up again. Anyone who disputes their negativity is simply labeled a homer.

It must be kind of sad to follow the most successful progressional football team ever. A team with unimagined success, and still spend your free time spouting negativity over and over. I get that some of you enjoy stirring the pot, and getting attention makes you feel important but jeez at some point don’t you sort of get tired of it and just want to sit back and enjoy some of this?

I saw those Highlights too I wanted A.J. Brown right off the bat if we don't have a running game a player like Harry is screwed. He has Great Size but 50/50 type balls in the Pros could end up as an int...can he gain Brady's trust?? You could plainly see Harry's lack of separation on tape but maybe Patriots Scouts were watching the catches and not the entire tape.
Terry McLaurin is the Truth too.

Dude is going to he a beast in this league.

Cannot imagine not being a Patriots fan no matter what they do, as I survived the debacle that occurred most years up to 1996...

All the crap about who they should have picked or not picked is just a diversion that minimizes the reality that they have won two of the three last Superbowls and are currently 8 & 0...

When I think about the Sullivan s...t show, Victor Kiam et al and all of the coaches that the Pats ran through who made empty promises, I am forever indebted to this turn around and great run we are witnessing...

Life is much too short to writhe in toxicity and negativity. These losers can go pound sand and cheer for the Queefs.

The same can be said about the Homers.

The fact that Gordon and Nugent needed to be cut to make the team better, was met with number of members with bruised feelings and insult laden rants as if Gordon and Nugent were family members. They are not. You dont know them and they dont care about you. The Homers are infuriated when the Gordons and the Nugents are let go and they are proven wrong. So, they lash out that those who did not agree with them and spout off with nonsense like you wanted those players to be fail. Want the team to lose. Are a troll. Are a Jet fan. Blah, blah, blah.

All for an opposing observation that is proven correct. The response is predictable and quite comical really.

Its sad that differing points of view upset so many on here. Life must be hell for them when it does not go their way or something is said that they dont like.

To some being a fan means you must think everything the team does is perfect because they win. Imagine if Bill coached that way. “Hey guys we won by 14 so don’t worry about the running back that went for 100 yards.” Or if Bill drafted that way. “Well it’s okay I whiffed on Duke Dawson because I found JC Jackson”. It doesn’t make you any less of a fan to acknowledge that the team has flaws in certain areas.

Now they took Gordon from us too. I hope the OP is holding up alright these days

I don't disagree with you on this Triumph, but I don't really think those people are what I would call homers. Some people fall in love with the players. They consistently over value our own players and almost worship them. When they are traded they are scared to death they will come back and beat us, they really root for the players. I always root for the team. When one of the Patriots players leave they are pretty much dead to me. Not in a bad way, but in the same way as any other player who plays in the NFL for a team not the Patriots. I want the Patriots to win. I don't care if Jimmy G does well or poorly, only so much as it impacts the Patriots wins or losses. I don't think they are wrong, just different then me.

Homers on the other hand, don't think their team does anything wrong. The issue is here in New England is complicated because, let's face it, they haven't really done much wrong. It is much easier to go to the Jet's forums and look every year at the posters who go on and on about how well the Jet's will be this year, and they are the best 1-4 team in the league, etc. Only to see their hopes crushed time and again. So the negative people here can't really ***** about how well the team is doing, they are forced to nitpick things like draft picks and cutting fringe players, and only winning by 6. Then when they are called out on it, all they can do is call people homers.

I don't know how rooting for former Patriots would make you less of a fan. I will always root for Jimmy unless it affects the Patriots. Same with Malcom Butler, Logan Ryan and 90% of the other former Patriots out there. The only ones I won't root for are the ones who had negative things to say ala Cassusis Marsh and Dion Lewis.

There are some that legitimately get furious when you talk abt Jimmy, other players being good or another team having success. Its embarrassing considering less then .5% could break down a defense, offer real insight into the game or players or w/e.

Yea its frustrating bc its a Pats/football forum but so little football discussion actually takes place. Instead, like some have alluded to. Your fandom is questioned, 100 threads on losers like SAS/Parker & a constant jets suck thread lol. We're the biggest outliers in sports history. Most successful NFL team in history w more GOATS then we can count (Brady, Bill, Scar, Ernie, Gronk...) but let's have a jets suck page on the main forever.

Again hilarious when you consider everything else we could be talking abt. In a league of hot shot young guns, the most innovative coach is pushing 70. You'll have great play callers on both sides like Kyle & McDermott but its Bill that has helped redefine the slot position, one first & fastest to steal/learn college (tite), drafting teammates to get his guy. I never see this talked abt but Bill loves drafting teammates. I'm thinking he'd rather take a shot & get his guy from a program he likes then draft a "talented" player from another school. Bill wants to coach his guys. Variations on 3S/Big Nickel. Literally an endless amount of topics but ya know, jets suck.

Except the so called “ homers” have been right for the past 20 years, whereas those of you, and you specifically, who believe they know better than Belichick, and could do a better job than Belichick, have been dead wrong for 20 years, but still whine and ***** and claim you are still right.

I could not agree with this any more. The inferiority complex on here is mind boggling.

Lol the old "oh so you can do better than Belichick?!" trope. No one is saying that. No one ever says that they can do better than Bill. Usually the smallest of criticisms are met with complete delusion (Sony being better than Chubb) or the usual "WE WIN GAMES!!".

lets see the kid play first.

Stephon Gilmore was praising him yesterday as was jonathon Jones about how well he has been in practice. Sanu has sung his praises as well.

The "Patriot Way"????

Hey Homer

I was right about Gordon and Nugent while you were crying because someone suggested they be replaced. Talk about a perfect example of butt hurt over a few words that you dont like on a messageboard. 20 years of butt hurt.

Good work.

I don’t think it’s that. I think most fans WANT things to be perfect. I don’t think any really think Belichick has never done anything wrong.
I think many feel the criticism is unwanted and unwarranted because they are thrilled with what the team has done and don’t understand why a fan of the team would enjoy criticizing it.
My 2 cents.
