The draft

TE Irv Smith would be a REACH @ 32. I would take him with one of our Second Rounders better value there. Huge fan of Riley Ridley Great value with late Second Excellent Value in the Third.

I am fine with WR Mecole Hardman on Day 3 not any earlier like his ability as a Returner. I think a lot of good WR's will fall through the cracks in this Draft too many to choose from.

BJ Raji carried his fat ass at BC and made him look better than he was.

Didn't Brace just pass away?

Unfortunately. RIP

But yes Raji made him look better than he was in college.

Who's ready for the draft? I am!

I think you know a lot. I think you hit it on the head. Fant or Smith in the 1st round,

Williams is TOOOOO SLOWWWW, unless they are playing him at safety. But smaller, quicker WRs will eat him up.

I don't worry about his 40. Sherman wasn't any faster, and he's been the best press man / cover 3 corner of the last decade. Williams is even bigger with similar traits. Watch him against the Ole Miss receivers, or against Miles Boykin (whose testing was historically dominant), and you'll see a guy who can stick with vertical routes because of his physicality and length, even against fast receivers. He could play a role similar to Browner in our defense, but I think he'll be better. He's got some quickness, although he probably won't be a slot guy. We have other players for those roles.

I seem to remember that it was Zo telling a story about Canty getting lit up in camp and they were in the huddle talking about how bad he was and that it was a joke that he was the 1st round pick. I might be wrong, but I recall it was a huge dig at Pete Carroll that this kid couldn't play. They were laughing at him and by extension, Carroll.
True.

Furthermore Carroll told Zo to throw some "lobs" in Can't- D's direction so he could pick them off and gain confidence.

Very nice! I'm all digital these days. The Draft Network has a nice make your own Big Board feature that I've found helpful. It definitely speeds up the process for me to quickly make comparisons and move players up and down.

Tonight I'll be out with my inlaws to watch the draft, so no obsessive tracking for me. :(

Thinking of putting up a thread titled "Waited The Whole 1st Round-BB Trades Out"....I mean, just for the teeth gnashing and cliff diving theater that will ensue if he does...

The one time that happened to me...before I understood BBs madness better: I wanted Mark Ingrahm. Total binky. Loved his game.

So, 2011, up late, pick 28...Pats trade to Saints who take...Mark Ingrahm.

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

They had already drafted Solder, so the night wasn't a total blah. And they used one o f the picks to get Shane Vereen and the other as part of the capital to trade up to get Chandler Jones, but still....AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

The trade up scenario has been mentioned here....not sure about BB's favorite...trade down to get more ammo......

I see a few of the talking heads with Pats trading OUT of pick # 32......

Option 1 : Denver Pats would probably move down to Rd2 pick #41 and also get Denver's pick 113 in 4th Rd and pick 148 in 5th round.

Option 2 : NYG Pats move down and get Giants Rd2 pick #37 and Rd 4 pick 108 while Pats swap a pick somewhere to make up for 22 point value difference.....

Any other trade down options by anyone?? Pats have no picks in Rd 5 so there might be trade down to pick up a spot there.

Kind of makes me wonder about the Clemson trio of Ferrill, Lawrence, and Wilkins a bit. All are likely to go early in the 1st round. They're all good, sure, but are they "better" because they had all three on the same line?

I wish BB cared more about the players we wanted and what we'd like the team to do with the picks.

:p

That sucks! I have a draft party every draft. I have a couple people over. I order pizzas, I bought mozzarella sticks and boneless buffalo wings to throw in the oven. Soda, water, beer! The big board is for everyone at the party to see!

In general, I have a feeling that today is going to be a day filled with dumb guys doing dumb things. The Raiders, Giants and Skins are all poised to do stupid stuff, and the Jete lay await ready to not be outdone. The Cardinals are going to take a small QB who is a decent passer first overall after taking a guy high last year and throwing him to the wolves.

It is going to be dumb and awesome, and the smart teams should benefit greatly. Seattle is in a good position, as are the Patriots with their middle round picks. Take advantage of these dipshiits today, Pats!

if we did it, they would say things like "with the 3rd pick of the 2019 NFL draft, the New England Patriots select..."

I like Bill's way much better.

Not workouts or meetings. I’m talking about the talking heads claiming we love a player,

Yes. The one that obviously comes to mind is Michael Holley guaranteeing the Patriots would select Jerod Mayo, but there have been many cases where there are rumors that the Patriots like a player and they end up taking him. I don't think the noise-to-signal ratio is any greater for the Patriots than any other team, but keep in mind the Patriots usually draft at the end of rounds so the branching forks of the draft make it harder for them to fall in love with any player.
