Re: (Alleged ) Ex-Pats Employee is running his mouth- Claims serious allegations

What are the "SERIOUS ALLEGATIONS"??

I assume it's OK to quote a response from another blog, if not I apologize

but Rob, here is the threat he's making...

If you guys want, I'm willing to go to Washington and talk to Arlin Spector. Is that what you want? You are lucky I'm in a good mood today. If you catch me in a bad mood, maybe I'll give him a call. Trust me, you don't want that.

Re: (Alleged ) Ex-Pats Employee is running his mouth- Claims serious allegations

At some point the tape was stolen and sold to Josh Miller, who remained in posession of the tape until Martin Gramatica stole it from him on August 23, 2006 - the day that Gramatica was released and the kicking job was given to rookie kicker Stephen Gostowski. Shortly thereafter, Miller was reported to have injured his shoulder and the Patriots signed Danny Baugher as insurance.

On September 22nd, Gramatica signed with the Colts to back up Adam Vinatieri. Walter, a retired punter and longtime friend of Vinatieri, asked Adam to steal it back for him so that he could use it as leverage to resecure the Patriot's punting duties. Vinatieri was succesful in stealing the tape from Gramatica on October 3rd. Gramatica accused Adam of stealing the tape and he was released from the Colts the next day.

Todd Sauerbrun, who has had a long time feud with the Gramatica brothers, caught wind of the dispute and offered Vinatieri a large sum of money for the tape. Vinatieri, despite his friendship with Walter, opted for the money.

Walter continued to bluff that he had the tape and was signed out of retirement by the Patriots on November 22, 2006. Howerver, after Todd Sauerbrun contacted the Patriots in mid December, Walter was placed on IR on Dec 17th and Sauerbrun was signed 4 days later on Dec 22nd.

Sauerbrun, whose heart was always in Denver, managed to free himself of his NE contract on April 18th, 2007 thanks to winning a grievance filed by the NFL Players Association. Having gotten what he wanted, he mailed the tape to practice squad punter Danny Baugher.

Baugher looked to be the leading candidate for the Patriot's punting job for the 2008 season. However, Danny's father Erle found the tape. Erle, a chronic gambler, had ammassed considerable debt and was in trouble with several lone sharks. He sold the tape on August 28th to an NFL collector who subsequently contacted several punters to auction off the tape to the highest bidder.

Danny's distraught phone conversation with his dad later that day was overheard and the Patriots subsequently release him on the 29th. Later than night, in an angry drunken stuper, Danny punched his dad in the face and was charged with assault and battery.

Meanwhile, the NFL collector's auction was bid on by Tom Malone, Josh Miller, Chris Hanson, and several other no-talent punters. On August 30th, Chris Hanson won the auction and was signed by the Patriots the same day.

Based on recent transactions (or lack thereof), it appears that Chris Hanson is still in possession of the tape.

The organization knows as POOP lives on and the Patriot's punting is a constant reminder.

Now that is funny

From an outsider's point of view, I'm not sure why this guy is so hard to believe. Granted, it comes across pretty sophmoric and poorly written, but it seemed he was making some balanced observations...some good, some bad. Im not saying I believe it, but just curious why it's absolutely meritless.

My question is, why would he say a Belichick tape? A Brady tape....sure. A Moss tape....I'll buy it. But Belichik for God's sake??? If he wanted people not to believe him, that was the easiest way to do it. Im trying to avoid that visual....eee-gad! I dont find the Bruschi stuff hard to believe. With that many male sports stars, somebody is bound to be a jerk. And nobody gets along with everybody.

Im not trying to support this guy, it's probably crap, just curious why you guys find it so hard to believe (Belichik tape aside)?

Re: (Alleged ) Ex-Pats Employee is running his mouth- Claims serious allegations

i hope his BS allegations don't show up in media or during SB.

Re: (Alleged ) Ex-Pats Employee is running his mouth- Claims serious allegations

These guys just want to see this...

I am actually glad to read this thread (well the majority of it) because most of you have made it pretty funny. But to go back to the start of this thread I am confused. What are the "SERIOUS ALLEGATIONS"??

Same people on the team are not best friends?
A grown man has sex?
There were rumors of a video tape os a football practice?

I am disapointed in the article (if you can call it that) but also in this thread title

The "serious allegations" were in reference to his spygate comments (which have since been deleted).

Its time to move, he want us to react he got his wish, he needs help and hope he gets it.. :banned:

Re: (Alleged ) Ex-Pats Employee is running his mouth- Claims serious allegations

An interesting post from a guy named PFW Insider about Casale in response to his article:

I want it to be true, but who knows.

P.S. at this point, if his reason for being fired is so juicy, I would pay to hear the events around it. Not a lot mind you because Casale ain't worth much, but a dollar or two.

It has a pretty true ring. Particularly the toxic presence line - really describes the downfall of the PFW product over the last few seasons. We could guess at who wrote it but that wouldn't really make much difference. I have a feeling Tom may have been axed for being Tomase's source he thought was impecable (and why wouldn't John think that given his employment). Not because he knew anything in his own right, but because he swore he'd heard it from sources above reproach - and Tomase made the logical assumption who those were.

There was never a tape. Just a lot of guys who wished there was badly enough to keep a chronic embellisher's tall tail alive because Bill inadvertently rubs them the wrong way and they want others to dislike him on principle. Same deal with the sex tape... They all want to be real insiders, which begs the question how dumb do they think BB is? This is why the media in this town and in Bristol get no access. Access is based on trust and discretion. Holley and Reiss don't seem to have any trouble access wise because they grasp that. Ditto the network broadcast crews and some of the top analysts. Those who don't grasp the ultimate value of access blow their wad for one scoop or to impress their readers and peers. That's what killed Felger's access. Their idol Will McDonough kept way more confidences than he violated for scoop sake, especially early in his career, because he realized that was how he built an access base that made him a dean among his peers. The instant gratification generation has no patience when it comes to their own success - they want it now, not in their approaching dotage.

Some get no real access in spite of proximity because they're angry, self absorbed twits who worry more about appearing independent to their peers by being publicly somewhat critical of the organization and likely privately beyond critical borering on feeding a pathological hatred of all things BB, rather than aspiring to do a really good job for the Kraft organization irrespective of what their insecure peers and their own fragile egos want to think. PFW is supposed to be a media/PR arm of the team - if you don't want to do that kind of work, seek employment with a sleezy tabloid or a low brow radio show or some gamblers rag. Just please, don't attempt to call yourself a sports journalist once you do.

Casale's contention that a tape once existed but no longer does and Walsh got bought off - which is essentially what he alleged - is just refusal to admit he made an ass of himself and possibly others. Much like Tomase (and his apologists) sruggled to admit he got willingly snookered even in the face of overwhelming evidence that no tape ever existed - nor could it have. The wrong verb rationalization...eminates from those who really wish Walsh had had the goods. That's all. Most of these insecure guys are more like Walsh than they'd care to admit.

If he was talking about Charger players it would be true....we're Patriots, not possible.

Re: (Alleged ) Ex-Pats Employee is running his mouth- Claims serious allegations

Actually Steve Martin first found it early in 2002. After the 2002 season, Ken Walter stole the tape from Martin's locker.
I stand corrected. I had mistakenly thought the tapes in Martin's possession were of Romeo.

Man, so many sex tapes, so little time.

Hi Tom, sorry to see you leaving PFW. It's always sad to lose an honest standup reporter like yourself.

Funny to see the backstabbers at patsfans.com attack you. Come stop by the Vine in Phoenix sometime and I'll buy you a cold one, good luck NEM.

What a pathetic individual. To stoop so low to "get hits" to make a living... just sad. To live with himself must be a terrible ordeal.

Re: (Alleged ) Ex-Pats Employee is running his mouth- Claims serious allegations

Mike the Brit said:
Absolutely -- it's the first thing that each new punter finds in his locker.

That also explains in part why the idiot kickers have a habit of wearing two different boots.

Im trying to avoid that visual....eee-gad!

Then I'd strongly urge you to stay away from the Dante tapes discovered by Klemm of Robinson-Randal let alone the Mangini in Hong Kong lace lingerie tapes discovered by Hank Poteat.

As far as the BS about Bruschi is concerned, though I choose to believe Mrs. B's anecdotes, even if what was posted here is true....a guy who makes a living by smacking the snots out of people can be surly, confrontational or even cantakerous?!! NO!!!! Say it isn't so.

Start emailin the link to the Patriots so they can sue his ass

Re: (Alleged ) Ex-Pats Employee is running his mouth- Claims serious allegations

Bruschi being an ass is not hard to believe, especially after reading his book. He talks about almost coming to blows with Vrabel for "ranking" on him...I had friends like that...they are called tight asses. Not fun to hang out with. The guy who can't take a "your mama's so [blank]" joke, and wants to fight you for cussing his mama.

Not to mention, the callousness of his book, and wanting to be a role model for other stroke victims...give me a break. You average American stroke victim does NOT have:

1. access to a private jet to see the best doctors in the world (per the Krafts)
2. a world class training/rehab facility at their disposal
3. team doctors and trainers at their disposal
4. in home personal trainers
5. the choice to not have to work and focus on getting healthy
6. Millions of dollars

Give me a BREAK!

Look, Paul Perrilo is excellent and if you are a Ture Pats fan you have to like Fred, he's just a complete Homer.
I can't argue for Andy or Erik, but that show gives a view from insdie the Patriots that you don't get from many others, like them or not.
Paul might be a good reporter...but the show really has been going down hill the past years..MORE time and less football..VERY disappointing. It's been more about them...and that is NOT what it should be about. Have I learned much about the team, the players?? About football?? Usually not at all..which is why I have not listened in awhile. "a view from inside"..pretty bland...and not all that interesting. Sorry..I just thought the show was a lot better years ago..now, it's more about the personalities..less about team. I can read messageboards, blogs and such and learn as much if not more...Ho-hum.. I DO like their camp updates though..they are complete and have much info...but the show?? I am always disappointed..
