A handful of Patriots players from the 1990s -- a group including Drew Bledsoe, Willie McGinest, Todd Rucci, Chris Slade and Scott Zolak -- are scheduled to be present at Gillette Stadium on Thursday.

According to the Patriots, "the players have been invited by the team to record stories from their playing days for a unique fan experience that will debut when The Hall at Patriot Place presented by Raytheon opens this summer."

The players will also receive a tour of the construction site at The Hall at Patriot Place. Previous recordings have included alumni groupings from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.

Media members will be on hand to chronicle the return of Bledsoe and Co., and the plan will be to post some updates here tomorrow in the late afternoon/early evening. The tour starts at approximately 4 p.m. ET.

I can't wait for Todd Rucci's story about how he is the luckiest bastard on the face of the planet (well other than Max Lane) because he got a big deal from the Patriots mostly because he was Drew Bledsoe's friend.

Scott Zolak can tell everyone about how he owes all his $ to Drew Bledsoe. "I backed up Drew for years. Some fans even thought I was good. Then Drew got hurt and I had to play some games and people found out I was terrible. I was out of NE and the league so fast I got whiplash."

Ahhh.... the 90s.... those good old days when i used to get in rowdy arguments that Bledsoe was better than Favre. Oops.

I think Bledsoe should focus on the games he played with staples in the fingers of his throwing hand... amazing that people forget that and then say Bledsoe wasn't a tough enough player.

I think we also owe him a debt of gratitude - not solely for shearing a blood vessel in his chest cavity and almost dying, to open the way for Brady - but for his role in sending Pete Carroll out of town.

If memory serves with a game on the line, Carroll was desparately signaling for a time out on the sideline, Bledsoe looked right at him, ignored him, and proceeded to complete a critical pass

I think that was the end of Carroll right there - Kraft knew that if his team's players - including Bledsoe, had that little confidence in their coach, that Carroll had to go - and sure enough he soon did.

No more or less than for the Grogan era I would think.

It was a very exciting time to go from worst to first - at least in the AFC for a time.

I think everyone also recognizes that the foundation of the 21st Century Dynasty was built in the 90s.

So what's wrong with getting some player input for posterity? I hope they do it for the players of the other eras as well.

I miss Dwayne Saab sometimes...

Honestly though, who doesn't miss Coates a little every once in a while. Ted Johnson stuffing the run? The Undertaker??? Heck, he (and later TJ) started the trend of necks wider than heads! C'mon, as a fan, you have to admit the Parcells years brought a little life back into the cheering and rooting, why not celebrate it!

And don't get me started on Zeke

Those were fun days. I miss the days when a win every Sunday was not a given...we knew Bledsoe would have to throw for 300 and 3 if we would have a chance against Marino and company. Curtis Martin was tough and likable. The Jimmy Hitch****s and Ray Crittendons always made things interesting...

I think they will have a stage in the hall where Bledsoe did a stage dive with Zolak and max lane


Ok that was a bad joke.. Remember after that incident we got clubbed by Tampa, and was not a fan of Everclear after that..

I liked Whigham! He was a badass. Same with "Big Play" Willie Clay and Ben Coates.

I loved Turner, he was like a Mustachioed Kevin Faulk plus 50lbs...just always seemed like, on 3rd and whatever, he'd get you whatever+1 yard.

Funny Katzenmoyer story, he was the answer to a strip club trivia question that got me 2 free tickets to an intersquad scrimmage with the Redskins the year he was drafted (where I saw Bishop throw the longest ball I've ever seen besides Cunningham in the QB Skills contest). Too bad he tanked, I really had great hopes for him and TJ in the middle, but I guess it worked out pretty well for us ...
