There is a reason why the Giants are SB champs, and we are not, and possibly heading in the opposite direction, as the Giants may be building a Dynasty. Pats pick a QB that will not help this team this year or the next (I don't buy us getting a #2 pick or certainly not a #1 for this guy, people were saying the same thing with Cassel, who not only will get us ZERO draft choices, but will probably get cut). If we are going to go offense, why not pick the guy the Giants picked, Mario Manningham ? The Giants understand Day 2, that's why they are the champs (Look at last years draft, and the start of this years). We can't seem to buy a clue on day 2, since 2002 (David Givens). Terrible pick with good CB's STILL on the board ! And don't give me that "We got Moss on day 2" crap ! We could have made a killing in round 3, that would have helped our team THIS yeear !! We could have have a third round of Dan Connor, Justing King & Tyvon Branch, instead we have a 2nd round pick NEXT YEAR (Brady will be a year OLDER by then), Crable (who I like) and a QB who may never play an NFL game. You can not tell me Conner, King & Branch isn't better than what we wound up with. Case closed !! So far, if I had to rate this draft, I give it a C-.

If you're gonna go Offense, why not TE (we are thin at TE), Kellen Davis is still available, or offensive line, which folded like a house of cards in the SB, or RB or WR, there are still some good ones left of all of these positions !. To pick this QB over a guy like CB Justin King is just a crime, and a sign that Beoli is losing it. I'm sorry guys, flame away. I know these guys know more about football, and prospects than I'll ever know, but these picks, or lack of picks (constant trading for future picks) is hurting us.

i stopped at the end of your first sentence.

this post is beyond worthless.

Please step away from the keyboard now. You should really not post while intoxicated like this.

Dude, this sucked when you posted it in the O'Connell thread. You really didn't need to post it again in its own thread.

You should not show up on this forum, ever.

Don't understand day 2 since 2002? How about Asante Samuel, James Sanders, Dan Koppen, Matt Cassel, Ryan O'Callaghan and Steven Gostkowski?

So we didn't draft Asante Samuel in the fourth and Dan Koppen in the fifth in 2003? Thanks for letting me and the rest of the world know. James Sanders didn't get drafted in the fourth two years ago? TBC wasn't drafted in the seventh round? Here I thought they did.

Thanks for letting us know this.

um should've had connor/branch?

so could every team and only 1 got him. you didnt scout him, interview him, put him through tests so what the **** do you know about him besides his production?

theres a reason we didnt take 1 of those players.

Hmmm, you're right, Sanders, Cassel and O'Callahan are big stars, I retract my statement.

Dude - you have lost your mind.

What the Patriots have done and are doing is why they are the dynasty and the Giants will be one very lucky one and done.

Can you not see they accomplished exactly what they sought out to do.,..younger and faster on "D" with ILB & OLB guys that contribute from day one and a real fast CB that happens to return kicks as well.

As for the QB.....did you not want a #2 QB that could step in after Cassell leaves next year?? Or, do you simply want to put Kevin Faulk in at QB in a disaster situation??

You need to learn the game and realize that BB & SP are pretty good at what they do.

Agreed.

Of all the ****ty posts you decided to turn into a new thread, you chose that one?

Ah yeah! Draft weekend. The one weekedn where people who have no clue aboout the NFL but what they read in some magazine think they are the **** and 3 time SB winning NFL personel people have no clue WTF they are doing.
This thread is EPIC FAIL!
Edited to add: Unless you are NEM. Then every day is that day.

Starting safeties, part-time starting RTs, and backup QBs are necessary parts of every team.

And way to ignore Samuel, Koppen, and Gostkowski.

Mario Manningham? There's a reason why this guy dropped.

Crable is a great pickup, pass-rushing specialist, fills a need, and can immediately make an impact in sub packages.

Honestly, how are people complaining about the pick of a QB?? You know, only arguably the most important position on the field? Because going into this draft, if Brady goes down, the rest of the team might as well stay home on Sunday. Finding a worthy backup to Brady is important, the team obviously feels its not Cassell and its too early to decide on Gutierriez.

Let's wait 4 more picks before we trash the 2008 draft. Most

of the other teams have a young quartertback that they are

grooming. Why not the Pats?

Oh crap! Now to get back to the top, we have to get past the one-year Bucs dynasty, the one-year Pittsburgh dynasty, the one-year Colts dynasty, AND, now, the one-year Giants dynasty! Who did I miss...

I'm pretty certain "oh no the Giants rushed way better than we blocked in the big game!" will continue to be read as incredibly long-lasting and significant. To your eye it may become nigh-insurmountable.

But I'm pretty sure you also believe "Oh my God! The Colts have TWO guys that can spin around in a circle!!!!" is in-depth analysis.

We're the team to beat, Junior. Still. Relax and let one of the gold standard war rooms around the league do their jobs.

That's right go follow the 49ers with their stud qb in Alex Smith. O'Callaghan depth, Sanders has improved every yr Cassel ehhh two out of three isn't bad.
