What the frick? Their contracts must be outrageous or something if that's all the compensation the 'Boys got for them.

Or they must have called Terrell Owens names or something in Jerry Jones' presence.

FOXSports.com has learned that the Dolphins have struck a deal with the Cowboys for tight end Anthony Fasano and linebacker Akin Ayodele.

In exchange for the two players, the Dolphins sent a fourth-round pick to the Cowboys, according to a report on the Dallas Morning News Web site.

When contacted, Fasano confirmed the trade, but details are still being gathered.

Ayodele signed for $17.5 million in 2006 and with Zach Taylor on board, that's steep for a backup. Fasano recently he had shoulder surgery.... but they only save about $500K for him.

Ayodele has been on the trading block since he lost his starting spot to Kevin Burnett.

Even without Ayodele, they still have Bradie James, Zach Thomas, Kevin Burnett, and Bobby Carpenter at ILB.

From your link it says the Cowboys saved $650k in cap space, and appearently Ayodele signed a 5 year deal with them 2 years ago with a $5 million signing bonus. That means $3 million hits the books this year, and if you're right about Fasano, that means he's getting $3.150 in salary this year, which isn't too bad for a solid Parcellian 3-4 starter.

Getting that and Fasano for a high 4th is a pretty good deal IMO. Wonder how our late 3rd this year will match up with that.

Ayodele has been on the trading block since he lost his starting spot to Kevin Burnett.

It's a little misleading to list James there cause he starts at the other spot. Basically they signed Thomas to fill the backup spot and ate Ayodele's bonus. I doubt Ayodele sucks that badly, maybe its just Philips' 3-4.

Anywho I think Akin + a 3rd-year 2nd-round tight end thats stewed behind Witten have to be worth more. To us especially, we love big tight ends and big vet ILBs.

I really wish the Pats had made this deal. Ayodele would help with the ILB depth and Fasano with the TE depth.
