Re: For those of you who blast Chad Jackson.

nice find!

Man Chad is lookin buff. Hes about to rape its gunna be so sweet.

If this is a new slang term, it's a new low.

Re: For those of you who blast Chad Jackson.

Jackson's questionable rep goes back to the high expectations around him as a rookie. He didn't show much and a lot of folks were disappointed, especially after his maturity and desire were called into question. He's still an unknown quantity and this coming season hopefully will resolve that.

It's funny TS, alot of the blame for that IMO goes on the Pats. The Deion Branch fiasco put all this media and fan pressure on a rookie coming out as a junior. Most WRs take several years to develop, especially those coming out early. The team's bungle of the Branch situation put the spotlight on a player who wasn't ready for it.

Just a few short months ago, a large portion of the fan base was openly ridiculing Maroney, calling him soft and a bust. Time has proven those critics wrong. If BB drafted Chad, it's because the guy has great ability. I trust BB/Pioli's judgment on this and I'm willing to wait as long as it takes to see that talent emerge. When they pull the plug, we'll know it's over. Until then, there's no reason to give up on Jackson. Moss last season supposedly had a big, positive influence on him.

We all want chad to be successfull, being the 2nd reciever taken in the draft leads to high expectation and typically high production. We don't want him to be the next Ashly Lelie or Troy Williamson, but more like the 33rd player taken in the 2002 draft, 14gms, 41rec, and 483yds. Thats what we are looking for, who is this mystery man and how do we get him on the roster.....

Re: For those of you who blast Chad Jackson.

I don't understand the level of venom released by Patriot FANS on this player. It's really a head scratcher. A good reason to root for him is to embarrass all the haters, who really are embarrassing themselves. He isn't the first player in the NFL to tear an ACL playing special teams and miss a season due to the injury. But he is the first to be mocked and ridiculed for it.

I get the venom. There are just players or coaches that people on this board love to trash no matter what. This guy is in the same boat as guys like Reche Caldwell, Josh McDaniels, and others are in.

I do have to say one thing in Jackson haters support. This is a make or break year for Jackson. He really needs to step up and make a contribution this year. He doesn't have to have 1200 yards and 10 TDs, but he does need to make the most of his opportunities on the field whether it is as a receiver or a kick returner. I think he has the potential to be a solid player on this team, but this is the year he has to prove it.

agreed.

And if Chad Jackson is healthy this year but can't do anything then we need to get rid of him. Look what Gaffney has done with this team and how much better this team made Mr. Caldwell.

If Chad Jackson can't perform with the best QB ever throwing the ball to him, then he needs to take off.

Obviously, i'm talking about when he is on the field and actually has a chance to contribute. I'm not talking about unrealistic stats or something that would be unpossible.

I agree. There has to be a better verb out there to describe what Jackson is going to do this year.

Re: For those of you who blast Chad Jackson.

Is it me, or does it look like he's limping or standing awkwardly in every clip? Maybe it's just his style or mannerism. I remember Mickey Rivers (NYY) used to shuffle along like he could barely walk, but could get down to 1st base in a flash or steal a base anytime. In any event, he doesn't look like he'd be anywhere near as agile as he has been in the past. Maybe the possesson receiver role is what the team is shooting for. I remember when he was drafted, in his senior year at Florida Urban Mayer used him for a lot of quick hits over the middle and he only averaged about 10ypc, despite his speed. BB liked that he had a lot of experience in different roles. This is all on memory, so feel free to comment.

Re: For those of you who blast Chad Jackson.

I'll bet he ends up getting injured again and Bam Childress has 50 receptions for the Eagles.

Why don't we all just wait and see what Jackson can do with a healthy TC under his belt? He's red-shirted his first two seasons. Consider this his rookie year.

Gaffney was considered a 2nd rd WR bust. His original team gave up on him, for sucking. He was involved in some off-field incidents as well. And now, he is a mature, hard working clutch player. Sometimes it takes time for WRs to develop. That's why it would be foolish to give up on a player with the raw ability of Jackson.

Re: For those of you who blast Chad Jackson.

I think this is a make or break season for Chad Jackson. If Sam Aiken has more receptions than Chad Jackson in 2008, I think we can write C-Jack off. I think with Stallworth leaving, this is one of those "I gotta make my move" type of moments for Chad Jackson, if he has a bad camp, and doesn't show anything in the preseason, I think he will be gone by next year. Of course I'm hoping he kicks butt, catches 40 passes, and shows that he can be a stud receiver in the NFL.

Re: For those of you who blast Chad Jackson.

So does TO.

I said that when he played college. That he reminded me a lot of the college version of Owens. Let's hope the T.O. inside him comes to the surface this year (minus the attitude problems and the prescription pill overdoses).

I'm with you, and I don't think Gaffney had the injury bug the way Jackson has either, so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that he's a producer, it isn't exactly like we need a superstar out of the #3/4/5 guy, but having a good, strong, over the deep middle TE/WR like him could be pretty cool. I still miss the hell out of Givens, I thought he was the man when he was here and healthy...he just always seemed to be open 17 yds down field when we needed it.

I wish Chad would form a foundation to help himself.
