When can we expect the Pats and Wilfork to start talking about an extension?

The sooner the better IMO....

As soon as Glenn Dorsey is chosen by pick #6

yeah...I'm just sitting around here waiting for the sky to fall every day

The sky including the entire solar system pretty much fell down on me 6 weeks ago...

Hopefully very soon. And how long is Jarvis Green under contract? I imagine he would probably want to go somewhere and start, but I sure wouldn't mind keeping him around.

I heard there were some trade rumors surrounding big vince, this off season. Would anyone be shocked if they took the best available DL at 7, you can't pay everyone on the defensive line, it's either him or Seymour going forward after this year. With all the silly free agency dollars out there, they have to be looking at some cost certainty.

I would expect they already have but with the crazy dollars inferior players have gotten this offseason Vince is going to be an extremely tough guy to sign.

Maybe we can trade him for Tommy Kelly?

No way. IMO, big Vince is the most valuable player on the D-Line, and he's only going to get better. Lock him up now for the long-term.

Besides, a #7 pick at this position isn't going to be that much more of a bargain.

I would hope they can sign him soon...I think he wishes to stay around...but big money is out there..so you never know what they may do..

obviously vince is important, the point is when you here trade rumors about a play it gives you some sort of insight into wether or not the club feels like they can keep him. Hey lose the salary cap and keep them all!!!! When Tommy Kelly gets the biggest contract ever from some crazy old dude in sweats it makes it harder and harder to keep everybody. I guess you'll know about and or Seymour by pick 8.

Insight into a rumor that originated where? One thing I've learned in the past year about "rumors", is that unless I read it on Reiss' blog, they are nothing to even waste your time on.

Whether or not they shopped him or not, Is'nt it fair to say one of the two won't be on the roster. Then it simply begs the discussion of which one and why?

After 09' is what I meant , can't think and type or type or sometimes think.

I believe they would sign Wilfork over Seymour eight days a week, if a choice must be made. Because of position, durability, etc.

Equally big going forward is the fate of Logan Mankins, the best Pats offensive lineman in twenty years. His deal expires at the same time Vince's does.

Wilfork would be the least easy to replace. A good Nose tackle makes the 3-4 go.

soon i hope, he's a valuable member, and i do not want to replace him with any player from any squad

He's signed for two more years and we can Franchise him another year after that (assuming the CBA remains approximately as is). I'd love to get him signed longer but it's not real high on my list of concerns right now.
