Hey folks,

Not sure if this is a proper topic for this particular forum (if not, I apologize and understand if mods feel the need to move it and/or delete it).

With that said, some of you may be familiar with my work as the publisher of ColdHardFootballFacts.com (the folks who declared Brady better than Manning like four years ago, before it was obvious to everybody). I also diddle around in my spare time as one of the food writers at the Boston Herald and we're doing a cool pre-Super Bowl tailgate spread next week.

Part of the section will include recipes from hard-core football fans. Recipes will be credited, of course, to their creators. And we'd plan to get a photograph for one.

In any case, I figured I'd spread the word here through some of the chat boards, under the rather reasonable assumption that hard-core Patriots fans may congregate here, and that some of you may even tailgate from time to time.

If any of you fancy yourselves hard-core football fans with great recipes, maybe you could help me out and get your mug in the paper. Either post your recipes below, email them to me at [email protected], or click here for more info:

http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.co..._the_paper.html

Recipes that we like but that don't make the cut in the Herald we'll post in the recipe database at CHFF.

Thanks, folks!

Crushed oreos.

Well, that's a start!

And while I will forevermore respect the forthrightness of crushed oreos (I serve mine with a little something I like to call Sauce d'au Budweiser), I was thinking something a little more ... ahem ... cooked.

Thanks!

Of course I only have crushed oreos because it is the Giants (or the Colts). Mia it is fried fish, Bills - wings, you don't want to know what I had when we played the cats.

Our specialty is steak tips..starting with Angus tips bought the day before and marination for 24 hrs the first 6hrs at room temperature in my mix of oil,soy sauce, and a variety of other spices added, including a touch of chili powder, season salt, Montreal,Basil, and a few others, all mixed and marinated in a specialty container at room temp for about 6 hrs then refridgerated, and brought to the game in the pat mobile then prepared on our Webber grill,no complaints as of yet

I'll give you this recipe to start which attracts other tailgaters......

Steamed Shrimp:
(Basic recipe for at home, but when tailgating double/triple the ingredients)
1 lb Shrimp (peeled, deveined, no tail, if possible)
1 tablespoon Old Bay Seasoning
Just a little salt
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
3 12 oz beers (one for cooking, two to drink while cooking).

Combine beer, old bay, salt, and red pepper flakes in a pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and add shrimp. Cover pot and let steam for 5 minutes. Drain and enjoy.

For dipping mix some horseradish with koktail sauce to your own personal taste.
The nice part about this recipe is you can experiment with different beers to alter the taste.
