Right. So they could have the third QB on the PS and elevate him for three games, but he would not have the emergency QB exemption and would count against the 48 active player limit. If he is on the 53 man roster and designated as the emergency QB he doesn’t count against the 48 active player limit.I don’t believe that’s the case:
“The Emergency Third Quarterback must be on the club's 53-player roster; the player cannot be an elevated Practice Squad player.”

Could not agree more….i liked Vildor much more than Woods….Woods seems to be a liability out thereCanada I get… Woods making this roster is an abomination. He obviously is someone’s nephew or something, because he gets beat like a drum every time he’s out there.
Maybe the effort he showed on the goal line tackle wasn't the only time they have seen that and sealed his fate,as well as sending a message to the rest of the team.Kind of surprised they kept Woods over Vildor. Vildor had a great camp and with the exception of his play against Browns, played well I thought in preseason…..not sure what to make of woods but he was abysmal against Browns
I was the guy pushing for Clowney going back to before the draft. I’ve always thought we should add a vet.We have Landry's open spot as an EDGE rusher on the roster. Your belief is that there is no free agent who you'd rather be starting for the patriots rather that Jacas or Hutchins, presuming the one of the starters were to be injured.
My memory does fail me from time to time. However, I don't recall any time when the value of players was more overvalued.
How could we answer that when we don't know what Jacas/Hutch will be?
I am not interested in a single name on that list, they are all junk.

I was thinking that having a bad game after his head coach had called the team out for not having good depth really compounded his failure to rise to the challenge. That attempt at a tackle would fit that idea.Maybe the effort he showed on the goal line tackle wasn't the only time they have seen that and sealed his fate,as well as sending a message to the rest of the team.

Everyone has a ceiling and a floor.Just want to point out that the team carried Caedan Wallace, Bradyn Swinson and CJ Dippre on the 53 man roster much of last season, particularly the back half, to protect them from being signed away and to develop them, only to dump them all before week 1 this year. While Swinson and Dippre could come back on the PS, I have to imagine they were hoping for more there.
Some of them probably are, especially the top 5, but we are apparently working on anticipated growth. Both players give high effort so maybe with coaching and experience they will be okay.Occasionally a team needs to use cap money for a rent-a-player for the current season or for 2 seasons.
Unless we think that Ponder is a solid starter AND Landry will be strong soon, we need to sign an EDGE rusher. The bar is very, very low. We are talking about moving ahead of Jacas or Hutchins in the depth chart,
Which of these players is NOT an upgrade to Hutchins and/or Jacas for this season?
- Kyle Van Noy
- Haason Reddick
- Preston Smith
- Leonard Floyd
- Brandon Graham
- Tyquan Lewis
- Yetur Gross-Matos
- Denico Autry
- Josh Paschal
- Dawuane Smoot
- DeMarvin Leal
- Ta'Quon Graham
Likely 2 or 3 of the current 53 will be replaced during the week, with Hutchins a strong candidate to be 1 of the 2.How could we answer that when we don't know what Jacas/Hutch will be?

Hopefully the train has left the station on Swinson. Undecided on Dippre.Just want to point out that the team carried Caedan Wallace, Bradyn Swinson and CJ Dippre on the 53 man roster much of last season, particularly the back half, to protect them from being signed away and to develop them, only to dump them all before week 1 this year. Dippre missed most of camp so he was trying to play catch up, Arkin just made an impression with his tough blocking and can do attitude in the meantime.Just want to point out that the team carried Caedan Wallace, Bradyn Swinson and CJ Dippre on the 53 man roster much of last season, particularly the back half, to protect them from being signed away and to develop them, only to dump them all before week 1 this year. Again, feels like they were prioritizing their draft picks, probably when they shouldn't have.Just want to point out that the team carried Caedan Wallace, Bradyn Swinson and CJ Dippre on the 53 man roster much of last season, particularly the back half, to protect them from being signed away and to develop them, only to dump them all before week 1 this year. I don’t really see that trend, certainly not from the examples of Wallace, Swinson and Dippre. Wallace was drafted by the previous regime, Dippre wasn’t drafted at all, and Dippre and Swinson were both cut last season.Again, feels like they were prioritizing their draft picks, probably when they shouldn't have.
I doubt this very much. I think the bottom of the roster has a bunch of similar players who probably are never going to amount to much and are interchangeable. I think fans latch onto them as binkies then are shocked when they aren't kept. I don't think many/any of our cuts are going to be picked up but we will see. That is from a team in the superbowl.Again, feels like they were prioritizing their draft picks, probably when they shouldn't have.
