Patriots Player Departure 2026 Patriots Roster Cuts Thread

I don’t think anyone would expect Bosa or KVN to take a lot of snaps. I prefer Bosa.
Eff Bosa.
He stinks.
He's had 19 sacks in his last 43 games, that's 7.5 avg over a 17 game season.
10 sacks in his last 2 years combined.
He's washed, and an idiot, no effin thank you.

Occasionally a team needs to use cap money for a rent-a-player for the current season or for 2 seasons.

Unless we think that Ponder is a solid starter AND Landry will be strong soon, we need to sign an EDGE rusher. The bar is very, very low. We are talking about moving ahead of Jacas or Hutchins in the depth chart,

Which of these players is NOT an upgrade to Hutchins and/or Jacas for this season?
  • Kyle Van Noy
  • Haason Reddick
  • Preston Smith
  • Leonard Floyd
  • Brandon Graham
  • Tyquan Lewis
  • Yetur Gross-Matos
  • Denico Autry
  • Josh Paschal
  • Dawuane Smoot
  • DeMarvin Leal
  • Ta'Quon Graham
How could we answer that when we don't know what Jacas/Hutch will be?
I am not interested in a single name on that list, they are all junk.

KVN is cooked. Not sure about Bosa, he’s pretty long in the tooth too.
If Bosa agrees to go back on the juice, and sign a contract where most of it is just bonuses for each game he actually plays, I'd be on board.

I feel similarly about Gibbens.
After Gibbens missed his assignment on Barner and Seattle scored their 1st TD in the SB, I understand the Pats moving on. Huge mistake by Gibbens. Can'take mistakes that critical at the most important moments.

I still think he’s better than Obiazor or whoever else is our third LB.

Just got home from being out all day - my binky Hutchins actually made the roster?!!?!

Those are all reasonable candidates for a spot on the practice squad

!0 sacks in his last 29 games, equates to 6 sacks over a full 17 game schedule.
Buffalo was a bad pass rushing team last year, 1 more sack than us and remember how bad we were.
Bosa had every opportunity to stand out there and he didn't, 5 sacks.
Another year older, it's been 5 years since he's had double digit sacks, his highest total in the last 4 seasons is 6.5
He's a washed bum.
I would rather role with Hutch/Jacas then give Bosa snaps.

Washed, I want no part of his overpriced ass. Bah

I really like Obiazor, Reed, and Prunty. They are all athletic and instinctual. I think they are going to surprise.

I am worried about Jacas. Lomu and Raridon should be Ok, but Jacas is worrying.

What's interesting is that, from what I can find, the 3rd QB can be put on the Practice Squad and Elevated for game days. The only issue with that is that another team COULD sign them away.

I don’t believe that’s the case:

“The Emergency Third Quarterback must be on the club's 53-player roster; the player cannot be an elevated Practice Squad player.”

Jacas isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
Hopefully he gets it fairly quickly.

We have Landry's open spot as an EDGE rusher on the roster. Your belief is that there is no free agent who you'd rather be starting for the patriots rather that Jacas or Hutchins, presuming the one of the starters were to be injured.

My memory does fail me from time to time. However, I don't recall any time when the value of players was more overvalued.
