I expect Rizy to have no problem making the Practice Squad. As a PS member, he can be elevated three times and then signed to a regular contract.

After these 4 weeks, he can be waived, signed to the PS, and then be elevated another 3 times. RINSE AND REPEAT

There is no reason to believe that Rizy wouldn't clear waivers. After all, the team would then have to put him on their 53.

Treat this one with caution. I haven't seen it from anyone else.

It’s capped at 3 elevations per year. Waiving them does not reset the count.

If Ben Brown is unable to dress, you will likely be correct.

If Brown dresses it's next JAG up.

Waiving them does not create a reset, but signing them to the 53 for a day and then clearing waivers does.

We’ve seen players waived on cutdown day then active and playing in week one. There will be moves to send some guys to the injury list and more players brought in. Nobody should be celebrating or bemoaning moves now, it’s far from complete.

Please correct if I am wrong. It would be good to get this settled before the season starts.

I believe that you cannot release him back to the Practice Squad.

My understanding is if he is a non-veteran and clears waivers, he is a free agent. If he then signs a new contract with us, he is eligible for 3 more elevations.

Absolutely. Lots of moving pieces over the next couple of weeks.

I’m not sure, actually. I searched and didn’t get that result, rather I found the info that it was 3 elevations regardless for the year. I’ll try and find something definitive.
