I was hoping you’d say she was nice to him and he turned it around. It’s easy to continue being a miserable wet blanket when everybody dumps on you all the time. It becomes self reinforcing. It works that way for both positive and negative behavior. That’s why it’s so hard to get people to change, even if they try everybody else doesn’t change as fast and it pushes them back into bad behavior. Peer pressure works both ways.

To be fair, Sam posted a very good detailed scouting report on Kiner that pleasantly surprised me with the strength of the positives in the evaluation. I really appreciated it.

I'm not sure what happened with him. It actually seemed like it may have woken him up to the fact that he was brutally miserable to be around because he acknowledged the fact that he had ruined a great opportunity by being such a miserable sob. Hopefully it did wake him up, because that really is a horrible way to go through life.

Sam is actually worse than NEM and Captain Stone and Andy.. It's actually pretty sad.

Yeah, if NEM was still around, he could watch Drake Maye throw a dime from the 1 yard line to a wide open AJ Brown, who then decided to run backwards the last 25 yards, trip over his own feet and fumble the ball out the back of the end zone for a touchback, and it would be all Josh McDaniels' fault because terrible play calling put him in that position in the first place.

Some of the things I’ve read since the trade make me think there is good reason to like him a lot.

I expect he will likely earn a contract extension and be a valued contributor here for years to come.

Yes, that's the beauty of UDFAs, you can sign a **** ton.
To bemoan losing a losing a 7th rd pick because they have "far more value than an UDFA" is ridiculous.
Here's another interesting fact, some priority UDFA signs deals with 3-4X as much guaranteed money compared to a 7th rd pick.

For the record, it's down to about 2x now. [Mr. Irrelevant got a $120K signing bonus this year; Kyle Dixon got about $250K guaranteed.]

In any case, the advantage of being an UDFA is that you can choose your destination. But you're only going to get a six-figure guarantee if a team expects competition in signing you (as definitely happened with Chism last year). Also, the vast majority of that will be part of your salary, rather than in addition to it, as is the case for a drafted rookie.

He’s a guy. I suppose he’s cheap, but he gives you next to nothing on special teams, has never stood out as a pass blocker, couldn’t earn a role running the ball last year when Arizona lost their starter and immediate backup RB to injury and was going to get cut today if they hadn’t traded him.

I agree, it doesn’t mean he’s a bad player. He could turn out to be decent. RB’s are a dime a dozen. They probably scouted preseason players a lot more thoroughly than I did. On the other hand it wouldn’t surprise me if he was cut in the next few weeks either.

Agreed, his spot on the roster is not guaranteed.
Could be here a week, could be here for 3 seasons.
I put his chances of being on the roster all year at about 25%, but hope I'm wrong.
