PATRIOTS TRAINING CAMP 2026 Patriots Training Camp Day 7

But.. But.. BUTT.. People on Patsfans said that Jacas was a loser and lazy....and he was gonna miss the start of the season because of his contract and going on NFI....

My man Hudson has moved up to the second unit today. He's going to make the roster, I say.
He was up because Moses had the day off. Big stretch from filling in because of a Vet Maintenance Day and making the roster.

WAIT.. I though AVT wasn't there today, but Conti is reporting otherwise???
Yeah that was a mix-up. AVT was not there…rest day. Brown filled in at LG.

At 262 lbs. Arkin's 4.88 sec 40 is not that bad - but below average. I think the phrase is functional speed. When Arkin loses a step in 4 to 6 years, he career will be shortened, but he is Ok for now, but strictly a blocking guy.

Yeah, you’ll never want Arkin running downfield routes, but by all accounts he moves decently in short spaces and has secure hands. Seems like a potentially useful role player in a role the team was sorely lacking last year.

Agree. It would be helpful if the TE3 was a bit quicker and faster, but I think Josh will make it work. Arkin and Gilliam add elements that were lacking or underperforming last year.

If Westover can start at FB, then so can Arkin.

Arkin's not good in any athletic measurable, but he's right on the cusp in a couple.

He only has to be a willing, smart blocker who sacrifices his body on every play.

They should still look around for another TE, they have extra WR's to trade.

I think they said he bites on moves and needs some solid coaching. But that he definitely has potential.
Very coachable. I think the metrics are all there.

We have the depth to develop this year regardless. Maybe a Carlton Davis replacement in 27-28?

Age, due to covid he was slightly older than you might prefer in a rookie. Plus it was a pretty deep CB class, he didn’t have a ton of interceptions even though his passes defended and film looked good. Great teams find players.
Still not the greatest team excuse for it. There were older CB’s like Darien Porter last year that still caught eyes of people. Prunty just seeemed ignored altogether.

I think Arkin could make a serviceable Hill fill-in as TE3 behind Henry and Raridon for 2026. I'm less convinced he has a long-term role when Hill returns, but we can cross that bridge later if it's still an option.

Interceptions mainly, or a lack of them. Plus his tweener size probably didn't help, he's a boundary corner but not overly big.

The draft is deep, it's deeper for teams that know how to look. A good thing to look at is Wake Forest's D last year allowed the lowest QB pass completion percentage and 2nd fewest passing TD's in the ACC. He didn't turn the ball over was probably his biggest sin, but his college D was really tough to pass on... and he was Wake's best CB.

He still has a long way to go, improving and stacking good day upon good day. He hasn't made the team yet.

Would not be surprised to see Vrabes holding that pad for his next rep
Mike Smith was actually a (borderline) LB for the Ravens and Steelers - career cut short by injury.

I hope Wilson packed on some muscle and got stronger during the offseason. He got pushed around/swallowed up too much last year.
