Remember when the Clippers won the Kawhi Leonard sweepstakes from the Lakers? The Clippers were going to be unbeatable.

The 76ers are going to be very interesting this year. And imagine if they don't pick up Brown's two more years at $71M per. LOL.

Clearly those players who want the ball a certain amount of time are not going to be happy

Jaylen Brown: 35.1 percent

LeBron James: 26.2 percent

Joel Embiid: 33.6 percent

Add that all up and you get ... 143.1 percent. So, you know, someone might need to take a few shots fewer.

I think Philly will be issue a lot of "Maintenance Days". Hell, Embiid hasn't played more than 66 games in 4 years. LeDouche will take some time as he'll be 42 in Dec. Maxey will play 70 games or less and JB will play 65-70 games. Guys will get their minutes.

In 2008 Doc had a similar issue. He got buy in but it wasn't easy in the beginning but it worked.

I think you're correct on resting players - or at least that's what I'd do, including using Simons off the bench (who had a useage rate himself of 23.7% when he was playing last year with the Celts).

They, like all teams, only really need to worry about making the playoffs, keep their best players healthy and the older ones well rested, so that you can peak in the playoffs.

The Celtis will probably limit George's time too hoping they make the playoffs and he's healthy (and I expect Robinson will be a lot better than Vooch, who's numbers looked great coming in but clearly was still outmatched.)

But there's no way that their starting 5 will get the utilization that they did last year even if there's just 4 of them on the court (plus someone like Simons from the bench) - the math doesn't add up.

And I think Brown's high utilization and focal role as the guy who takes the important/last shots is part of why last year's losing season was his "favorite" season in Boston - more so than when he won a Championship. So we already know how he will feel about cutting down his time and shots.

If anything, I think LeBron will be willing to take more bench time and fewer shots during the regular season commensurate with his salary. They could shelve him for the full season so he's healthy for the playoffs and still come out with the top seed.

But the point remains - you've got a LOT of guys who like to be the focal point of the offense and that simply can't happen for all of them with this lineup. It's a nice problem to have in some ways but we've all seen Dream Teams assembled that look great on paper but don't play well as a team.

This kindof impresses me that Dillon Mitchell chose to sign a 2 way deal with the Celtics rather than take the option of going back to St. John's.

He's getting just under $700k to be on a two-way deal that allows him to get time in the G-League as well as some stints in Boston if he's up to it.

What's impressive is that he turned down NIL money that would probably be well over $1 million if he went back to St. John's and could make even more if he parlayed that into a higher draft spot next year. But this guy clearly isn't about the money - he's got a shot to play pro ball and he's taking it, and taking it now, which is better for him and better for the team in the long run.

I'd also hate it if he DID go back to college and then someone else drafted him and he was great! But seems like this kid is focused on making it in the pros even if it means getting less money initially. I like those types of players! Although I think he's really more of a defensive player for us, I'd love for him to be our next 2nd round success story!

Plus, there's an element of loyalty to your current team that some players have, but not all.
That was one of the things we loved about JB.
( and still do about JT).
I never thought the 2 were best buds off the court. But had each others backs as teammates.
I'll agree there was a slight tinge of saltiness for him regarding how the process played out, but not toward JT.
Anyway, it is what is. C's are gonna be fine

That's not what a couple of their coaches (and some players) have said about trans athletes playing in the W in the past week.
