Player Signing Patriots Finally Get Gabe Jacas Under Contract

Defensive schemes have evolved beyond the simple 4-3 / 3-4 schemes of old... He's not a 2 gap player...

It's good he's signed, but he's not starting out ahead of the curve...

Just one man's opinion... Ymmv
I don't like a rook missing any time.
But...assuming health, I would expect him missing a practice or two will have zero impact on his readiness come opening kickoff week 1.
Just my opinion.

Let's see how he does in camp - I'm still open to Clowney for low money but they can now hold off on that. Clowney will probably wait out the pre-season and sign late like he did last year after camp injuries anyways

I hope you are right.

Yup, you are right... Can't do anything about the way it played out...

The only thing I can do is exercise my prerogative, which is to ***** about it because I can...

He should have known things were getting close... Riding a bike on the sidelines is a better look than not being present at all...

Don't mean I'm right or that I'm wrong... It be how I feel is all
Perhaps Jacas thought that he would be better off training on his own rather than riding a bike and dealing with the press.

when is a player, who is rehabbing, better off training on his own? the answer is never given the potential ramifications... it is always better under the auspices of the team in case the player is re-aggravates the injury...

Perhaps if he is training on his own, then the rumors of "injuries/rehab" are over exaggerated and were not a big deal after all, they were just an excuse... which means that his ass should be in camp with his team / teammates / coaches

my 2¢... ymmv

Gonzo is the last one for the time being.

Per Kraft, he got an offer for big $ just today. We’ll see if that turns into more news soon. The unfiltered crew seemed to think he would sit in by avoiding contact drills. We will see.

This great news on the Edge front, let’s hope he can catch up quick with his high motivation level he showed at draft time.

Per Jordan Schultz:

From Vrable's earlier press conference:

On if there's any update on Gabe Jacas' contract situation:

"No, not today. Not with Gabe, not yet. Not from when we met yesterday."

On if he's local to the team:

"I do not think that Gabe is local. I don't think that he's in New England."

Reiss did report ealrier that significant progress had been made, so it looks like it got done:

But the team would not allow that, because they did not want to give him any indemnification in case he aggravated the injury.

If any player has the look, Jacas has the look of a stud pass rusher. Just the way he looks on the field, and the production last year (11 sacks). Hopefully, now that he’s signed, hopefully we see him on the field soon. With Landry MIA, we need Jacas.

as expected, it was just a matter of time.
Funny how some talked about him re-enetering the draft and us trading him for a bag of peanuts.
Even had some posters say he had an attitude problem.
When will we learn.
These are, not surprisingly, the same people who thought Christian Gonzalez was holding out. Or AJ Brown's leg is teh amputae,
It's funny how it's always the same people/

Now slow roll him into shape so we avoid the soft tissue BS that comes from layoffs
While he won't be in NFL football shape, How do you know he's out of shape? Especially since it's been shown he was already doing the rehab from his surgery AND working out..

He’s posted videos showing he is working out on his own, just like every other player does during the offseason.
You gotta wonder if people just love to post BS for the sake of getting a reply. Especially, as you mention, the videos posted.
