Draft lotteries have been the bane of our sports existence, ever since the very First one.

I don't know how but their salary cap table shows they are still not out of room but they only have @ $7M available and one strangely constructed roster. Somehow they have 19 NHL active contracts without one of them belonging to a legit RW: 7 centers, 6 LW's only 6 D-men and no true RW's. They also have NO NHL LEVEL GOALTENDER. So with only $7M available and zip left in draft pick leverage they need to fill the current vacancy at the most important position on the ice and need at least 3 D-men, two of which have to be of the plug n play variety. 8 of their top ten contracts are held by players with no/restricted trade clauses in their contracts.

Bill Zito isn't an idiot, he must have a plan and trades of some kind obviously need to happen but there seems to be little to no leverage for him in making them.

Bruins are in a tough spot. They are clearly not close to being cup contenders. Yet, they are not bad enough to be picking top five.

Too many teams in the division are better. Carolina is much better.

2019 and 2023 were such a lost opportunity. Especially 2023.

That's why the Ruins, after they #FireSweeneyNOW, should trade everybody & everything and start all over with the new guy,
