That's if you don't win the Superbowl you have up way too much territory.
If AJB has a great 2027 and/or the Patriots win a championship then yeah nobody will GAF about that 2028 first. We have 2 x 5th round picks anyway and really who cares about the 5th rounder.
The trade can only be judged after the next 2 seasons, especially 2027 for this trade to be good the Patriots have to be a playoff team in 2027 if we're giving them a pick in the top half of the draft it's a disaster.
2 playoff seasons and it's a win.
They closed the deal in due timeNow Italian pat patriot can go to bed
Some people think first round picks are god tier level untouchableMASSIVE for Maye's development. How can you not love this?
I am convinced most of America doesn’t understand the word greed. We should have been getting back a fourth, not sending out a fifth to that filthy franchise. **** Howie Roseman and his greed. His time will come.
If Drake gets hurt in 2027 and that's the reason we're picking high and we lose out on the pick, that sucks but not sure I'd really be too bothered by that if AJ Brown is a legit player for us. It'd suck to miss out on the "opportunity" of picking high due to that injury, but that's also just bad luck. If AJ Brown is a legit piece reasonably worth a 1st rounder for us, I think you have to be ok with that. Can't NOT make moves to help the team because Maye could get hurt. The 5th rounder is irrelevant to me, pretty much a throw in for Howies ego.
It's hard to completely judge the trade right now but if the Patriots are a playoff team in the next 2 years this is a great trade, if the Patriots have a bad 2027 or Drake gets hurt and the Eagles are picking in the top 12 somehow in 2028 that would look like a brutal trade.
We have 2 x 5th rounders anyway one from Bradbury trade so we still have a 5th in next years draft.
This entire trade is pending a physical, of course… They will do their due diligence in regards to his knees….. but I agree with you. He has had issues with degenerative changes in one of his knees and also repetitive hamstring injuries and actually had scar tissue removed I think from his hamstring at one point it was that significant.I hope his knees hold up
At least Waddle has two healthy knees. That sort of thing is important for a WR.Fair. People are going to sit here and lose sleep over a 5th but this is better than giving up the farm for Waddle.
