Josh Sweat Trade Candidate

Teams are already calling about a trade for him. Pats pass rush is still quite putrid, but the Pats can't trade for both Keith Sweat's son and AJ Brown.
NFL teams can always play around with contracts to find the money if there's a player worth bringing on

But I get the sense that these things may not happen until after the Brown trade, the future of Boutte is determined and they extend Gonzo

That being said, this season is a good time to do some front loaded contracts as one has to think they will be extending Maye next season and his cap hit will increase significantly

One injury away from a “No WR Talent” offense.

Looking back, in the early days it was always a big thing about Brady spreading the ball around, having his favorite receiver being whoever was open. Then Moss arrived, Tommy discovered the dopamine hit a true cheat code WR could be, and his approach to the game changed. Before Moss the passing game was predicated on the defense not successfully covering every WR on every play.

Thats my basic problem with the wild enthusiasm for Brown, it’s moving the offense away from being multidimensional.
Wes Welker had 112 catches for 1175 yards and 8 TD in the regular season, and another 27 catches for 213 yards and 2 TDs in the playoffs in 2007.

It was much more than a One Receiver offense.

I think we'd actually be fine without Brown as that will dramatically change the offensive scheme in the way you described - less spreading of the field and more telegraphing to Ds that he's throwing to Brown for 150 or more targets a season

Maye is extremely accurate and it can be tough to tell if Diggs' 85% catch rate was due to him or Maye (probably both)

So with Dobbs and our other WRs and TEs - not to mention an improved OL - I'm not worried - but I completely agree with your sentiment on how adding someone like Moss changes things

I know everyone thinks I'm crazy but the "perfect season" flirtation in which Moss or Welker were nearly always the target came back to bite them later in the season when their D became predictable.

Moss and Welker could still dominate, but when we needed that one key pass caught, Brady was going to one of them and the Ds knew it - and defended it when it counted.

Isn't Joey Bosa getting close to cooked territory?? Stick a fork in him.
Maybe, but if he is willing to sign a 1 year prove it deal, who cares. Bring him in and let's see if he has anything left in the tank.

I'd need a note from his doctor that he's back on the juice before I'd even consider it.
He was terrible last year.
