Patriots Rumor A.J. Brown trade rumors heat up - Should Patriots get him?

A report indicating the Patriots are potentially in the market for this player, or have expressed or plant to express interest.
Yeah, one way or another I think this will be completely resolved by the weekend. There will be an "agreement in terms" announced which will be effective Monday 6/1.
I can’ wait for the end of this drama.

I don't think there is any interest from any other teams. I wouldn't be surprised if Roseman wasn't spreading the rumors about the Jags and other teams just in hopes to drive up the Patriots' offer or even to try to salvage his rep because the Pats may lowball and make him look bad since they know they are not competing against anyone.
I am sure other teams have inquired, but to what level? I would not give a first, unless it is 2028 conditional based on his health. My pref is a 2027 2nd and a conditional 2028 pick based on performance. like a 2nd for 3rd swap

So Fitting that it will be on a Monday... I have never been so excited for a Monday.

I'm hoping it's a 2028 First at the very least: 2027 will be a very Deep Draft. That said maybe Philly tampers their expectations and accept a 2027 Second Rounder.

I can’ wait for the end of this drama.

I'm looking forward to talking about how the combination of Brown and Doubs can function in this offense in 26 along with our upgrades to Oline/FB and less about what hypothetically could have been with whatever future draft capital is at stake.

Right on track for my 163 page prediction, though I might be a few pages high in the post trade news. Getting a little nervous in the rumors coming out that it will definitely be a first round pick

2028 First Rounder hopefully: I have a feeling that Draft is going to suck from the top down.

I'm the opposite. I haven't wanted them to give up a 1st, but I'm consigned to it. If they give it up I hope it pays off big time and helps them get a Lombardi out of it,

Well, this is encouraging, maybe it isn’t a done deal after all, and the people commenting on the article seemed willing to pass on Brown rather than give the Eagles what they want.

The Eagles have no leverage, and they can cave or keep Brown.
4th and Boutte, or a 3rd outright.... maybe a late round pick swap so they can feel better.

NEW: A league source tells me this morning that the #Eagles and #Patriots have recently “grappled” over the component of the total trade compensation for AJ Brown that could involve a “swapping of picks.”

With that said, over the last 7 days, my sense from -various conversations- is that New England is still casting good confidence a Brown trade will get done.

But just to share a bit of the mental twisting that is always needling until a trade becomes officially executed, a league source also added this:

“This is still Howie Roseman we are talking about and everyone’s still gonna hold all of their cards up until the start of June. So yes, a concern always gets floated here & there in these things that someone would swoop in at the last minute, and it would be a deal that Philly couldn’t refuse.”

But in the meantime, Patriots-Eagles trade talks still motor on until ink is dry.

I am guessing right now they are hammering out the final details and will announce it over the weekend. They are likely nitpicking a pick swap. It would be interesting to see something like a 2028 first in exchange for Brown and a 2027 third or something like that.

I think Eagles fans are going to be shocked by the trade details when it happens. Some of them are literally talking upwards to Christian Gonzalez and a 2028 first for Brown (not exaggerating). All of them seem to expect a first rounder and more compensation for Brown. The most likely outcome if there is a first involved is that there is another pick swap in the Patriots favor.

The Eagles fans are acting like they are trading Brown at age 25 with no knee concerns with teams falling over each other to make a trade. When they traded for Brown, they only gave up a 1st and a 3rd and that was four years ago. How can they expect to get remotely close to that four years later when he is going to be 29 in a month and has shown signs of decline (even if that is lack of motivation because of his situation)?

As far as I'm concerned, our backs are kinda against the wall her as well. We got a tough schedule coming up. Are we gonna go into that schedule without upgrading our weapons? Seems like a bad idea to me if you wanna compete.

When you act with desperate intentions you set your team back in the future. I don’t think our backs are against any wall.
Would it be nice to have AJ. Yes. We could get Diggs for no compensation if we feel the need. Our receiving corpse is competitive right now just not great. I am all in on AJ just not at the desperate cost
