DRAFT Welcome Caleb Lomu OT Utah

The idea that Wallace could start at LT was perpetuated by Elliot Wolf... I think he was in damage control mode trying to silver-lining a absolutely disastrous second and third round of that draft.

Wallace played on the other side of the line from Olu Fashanu (picked #11 in the 2024 NFL draft) and despite not really showing up on tape as an NFL talent... was reported to have positional flexibility by the Penn State coaches because he had played other positions in practice.

Lomu played LT for two years in college on the other side of the line from Spencer Fano. If you don't know who Spencer Fano is he was drafted 9th overall this year. He and his brother are on the Browns, they had 4 uncles who played in the NFL and a cousin. Basically you can't get much more of an NFL pedigree than Spencer Fano... And the Utah coaches watched him and Lomu play and decided the younger Lomu was the better fit to protect the quarterback's blindside.

That should really tell you all you need to know about Lomu. The coaches whose jobs were on the line at Utah wanted him in the most important position protecting the quarterback over the guy who was a surefire NFL offensive lineman.

Yep.

Caleb Lomu's not here to play Right Tackle...

The Campbell is a G in the making crowd is just fooling themselves or just plain trolling. Most of Campbell's issues came AFTER his injury, yet they continue to make it sound that he sucked all year. They continue to ignore the fact that he was playing next to a fellow rookie who was playing out of position to boot. They continue to ignore he played next to a TE who sucked at chip blocking. They continue to ignore the fact they he was playing in a complex offense for the first time. And they continue to ignore that despite all this, Campbell was having a good season by EVERYONES account prior to his injury. He was obviously a big part of an OL that anchored an offense that ranked in the top 5 of a lot of offensive categories

Nothing I have said here is new or hasn't been discussed many times, yet we have whole threads dedicated to IGNORE what I've written over and over again. OBVIOUSLY Lomu played LT in OTA's in rookie camp. He was the only one there. Plus, if his role initially is to be the swing T as he gets his feet wet, then this won't be the last time he is going to get snaps there. I know the media has to come up with a constant barrage of continual copy, but this is going to be a LONG season if every time Lomu gets a LT snap it is "news".

I think that Lomu's initial role is to be Lowe's replacement, a backup LT who can start if needed. That role was a serious 2026 need.

No one knows who will be the backup RT, not even staff. We all want Lomu to be the first off the bench at Rt as well as LT.

They can't help themselves, they HAVE to be right!
" See, I told you so"
They'd rather be right than have a player flourish.... and they call themselves Fans.

Bah, typical dipsht PF idiocy.

I am not in the Campbell should be a Guard crowd, but he looked pretty terrible against the Browns, well before his injury.

Two of the sacks he gave up came off of ungood chips from the TEs that actually made his job harder.
