Patriots Rumor A.J. Brown trade rumors heat up - Should Patriots get him?

A report indicating the Patriots are potentially in the market for this player, or have expressed or plant to express interest.
I don't think there is a definitive answer, it can work either way.
If it is a 2028 first that equated to a 2027 2nd. If it is conditional first based on Brown playing time or success also that would make a big difference.
The biggest benefit for keeping first round picks is the contract, the negative is that past the top 10 it's a 50-50 shot whether the pick is going to be more than a JAG.
I personally would be hesitant at any 1st straight up, prefer a 2nd for Brown, or a 2nd and a 4th or a 2nd and Boutte but a 2nd that can become a 1st with two 1,000 yard seasons or starting 85% of games over 2 years I could be ok with.
Ok, here is the trade to make. We trade a 2027 3rd and a 2028 1st for AJ Brown and a 2027 2nd.

We then hope Philly has an average season and the 2nd round pick is mid round.

Then, in a historically deep draft, we have some team convinced a player in the 2nd round is the missing piece, and we trade the 2nd rounder straight up for a 2028 1st.

The player is not the missing piece, and we end up with a pick in the top 15-20.

So for a 2027 3rd rounder, we receive two years of AJ Brown and a hopefully significant trade up in the 2028 1st round.

Kevin Costner approves.

Haven't seen Tom Curran in a while.

Each year he looks more and more like Married With Children's Al Bundy.

Wonder if Tom played for Polk High?

I see him with Perry, unfortunately Curran can't seem to come to grips with the fact that he's not a comedian, and spends much of his making lame attempts at being funny.

2028 first for Brown + a 2027 third would be great for both teams
I think the pick swap would have to be in the same year. Philly fans wouldn't be happy with sacrificing the player + a 3rd rounder, with no comp till the following year. But yeah I think a 1st for a 3rd (which nets to a mid 2nd according to draft charts) is what we're probably looking at, and hopefully all that occurs in 2028. Only 3 weeks away, right?

Imagine a team trading a 1st round pick for Thomas. He was the most overrated WR in the 2010’s.
Hmm.
4 year stretch where Thomas had:
5512 yds
32 TDs
470 receptions
Thats an average of 1378 yds; 8 TDs and 118 receptions per season over a 4 year stretch.
Then injuries got him and he was never the same.
He was definitely not overrated.

Going to be very interesting to see the vibe when we face Eagles in the joint practices this summer and AJ is torching his former Eagles teammates!

Like alot of Guys he returned when he wasn't fully healthy and that never ends up good for any NFL player.. I believe he got Reinjured?

Ya, he never fully recovered.
Only played 20 games combined his last 3 seasons and was never the same.

The AJ Brown Support Group?
I've been against the trade - especially if it's for a 1st round pick. With that said, I will be a little annoyed if he's traded to some random team. Ravens love coming out of nowhere and trading for players slated to go elsewhere.

I'm not against the player. But I'm against the cost, both in terms of draft capital and in terms of opportunities for young receivers. I also want to see this coaching staff develop young receivers.

Jersey numbers #8 & #11 are both still available..

Most likely indicates that Ja’Whaun Bentley & Edelman are returning. We could certainly use the depth.
